Elisabet Sahtouris passed away on December 21, 2024. She was a World Business Academy fellow, and a well known evolutionary biologist, way ahead of her time. I was privileged to meet her through the World Business Academy and to become her friend while we both lived in Santa Barbara California. Her mastery of understanding living systems, sustainability and evolution as well as her vast intellect and massive heart, has always inspired me. Last night, it was a moving experience to hear tributes to her, in a Zoom Celebration of her life. We are living through a global polycrisis, and her TedX talk given in Germany in 2011, shows her profound understanding of who we are as a species, and who we could become if we chose to step into the collective evolution she invites us to think about. Here is a link to her Tedx talk - which illustrates her extraordinary presience . Her teachings have relevance now, offering a very broad framing and clear lens for understanding some of the pressures we currently face. We have lost a very bright light and I will miss her as she became a treasured mentor. May her memory be a blessing!
