Last week, our inaugural cohort of Global Citizens Fellows embarked on their capstone experience in Mexico City – an immersive international trip to learn from leaders on the ground working in the area of diplomacy, femicide, climate, gentrification, migration, and urban design. Fellows learned from and exchanged ideas with: - Sorece Asociación de Psicólogas Feministas, a women-led intersectional mental health collective serving survivors and families of victims of violence against women and femicide. - Intersecta, Organización para la Igualdad, A.C., a feminist organization combating discrimination and uplifting equal rights in Mexico. Nosotrx_s led an incredible sunrise excursion through the floating gardens of Xochimilco, followed by breakfast in community, and a powerful climate action workshop led by @ Mural del Clima Mexico (Climate mural of Mexico). - Quetzalcoatl Park took the group on a walking tour of this magnificent space that seeks to “generate a sense of community among humans inspired by the connection with nature.” - U.S. Embassy provided the Fellows with a behind-the-scenes understanding of everything from public affairs to internal functions to diplomacy.? This capstone experience was not only an opportunity to learn from inspiring leaders and organizations, but also a chance for the Fellows to deepen their understanding of global challenges and the solutions from the largest global city in North America. Feeling inspired? There’s still time to apply to the Global Citizens Fellowship. Women from all backgrounds, lived experiences, and perspectives are invited and encouraged to apply! Applications are due November 29 at 5PM. https://lnkd.in/g-xnkg2W
