Today, the Civil Construction Pathway class from Franklin Central High School visited a Milestone Contractors LP office and jobsite to gain firsthand experience in the civil construction field.?? The day featured students operating a small crane with the IUOE #103, concrete beam testing, valuable networking opportunities, and a job site tour, providing these students with a glimpse into potential careers in the industry. Bridging the gap between education and industry is essential to inspire and prepare the next generation of civil construction professionals, and today was just that! #WorkINRoads

Superior’s Midwest team recently hosted the?Indiana Constructors, Inc. (ICI) Work IN Roads staff at our I-465 / 96th Street project (INDOT B-42569) in the Indianapolis area. The Work IN Roads program educates students about pursuing a career in the construction industry. The goal of the visit was to capture footage teachers can use in their classrooms. The teachers also got a chance to witness a beam erection in real time. Thanks for putting a spotlight on Superior to show your students how fulfilling a construction career can be! #ThisIsSuperiorConstruction?#ConstructionJobs

Final wrap on the Golden Shovel. One of the unique requirements devised by the ingenious Eric Fisher is that each team is coached by an industry volunteer - classroom teachers have to sit nervously on the sideline. It's great exposure/networking for kids and potential employers. Today's last shoutout is to the Indiana Constructors, Inc. members who volunteered to spend time coaching these kids on the value of showing up, working hard and achieving results: - Beaty Construction - Brooks Construction Company, Inc. - E&B Paving - Gradex, Inc. - HIS Constructors, Inc. - Milestone Contractors LP - Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc. - Superior Construction Engagement builds roads - and careers!

Special thanks to state legislators who attended our very successful Golden Shovel event last week. They loved hearing that our high school Civil Construction Pathway curriculum is COMPLETELY industry-driven, industry-supported and industry-funded. Not a single state or public dollar!
