"I have been in this industry for 15 years, and I am still learning every single day."?| Why do You Work IN Roads? | ICLI Alumni John Agresta from The Hoosier Company, Inc. took the time to sit down with us and go over what he does in the civil construction industry and why he loves what he does!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to represent Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana - APAI and Women In Roads (Work IN Roads) at Franklin Central High School's Construction Showcase. It was extra special because I'm a proud Franklin Township resident, and this is the school my kids will eventually attend! (special shoutout Amy Henningfield, MBA who is rocking Women In Roads!) Looking back, I wish I had access to the kinds of classes today's students can choose from. It's so amazing to see how schools are opening doors to Civil Career Pathways. Whether students decide to pursue a four-year college degree, join a trades union, or jump straight into the workforce, these opportunities are becoming the new norm in schools across Indiana. Huge shoutout to the hardworking teachers and industry leaders who are showing students all the incredible career possibilities out there!

ICLI’s most recent meeting at the Indiana State House was a great day of leadership development, discussions on Indiana transportation, and valuable networking opportunities. ?? This meeting and tour gave the group a deeper understanding of how state policies impact the industry and how they can utilize that information to be effective leaders. #ICLI #ICI #leadershipdevelopment #letsbuildIN #letsbuildINleaders

I am truly honored to be recognized as a 2025 Construction Dive Champion alongside so many incredible women who are shaping the future of construction. This industry has given me challenges, opportunities, and a platform to drive change—and I’m beyond grateful for the chance to advocate for more inclusion, representation, and growth for women in construction. To every woman breaking barriers, leading with strength, and paving the way for the next generation—this recognition is for all of us. Let’s keep building a future where women not only belong but thrive. A huge thank you to Construction Dive for celebrating the voices and impact of women in our industry! #ThisIsSuperiorConstruction#SWIC#ConstructionDive #WomenInConstruction #ConstructionChampions #Leadership #BuildingTheFuture
In 2025, women not only work to build some of the country’s largest and most important projects, they also help draw others into construction. These leaders serve as mentors, teachers and advocates to help elevate the industry and make it an attractive career option for other women. This year, as part of Construction Dive’s fifth annual Construction Champions program, editors examined more than 300 entries, scrutinizing each nominee’s impact and depth of experience as well as her commitment to leadership and mentorship.
