??? Election Day Best Practices: Support Your Team’s Right to Vote! ??? At Workforce Solutions, we know how crucial it is for companies to stay compliant while supporting employees’ rights to vote. With Election Day upon us, here are some best practices to keep your team informed and compliant: ? Review Policies: Ensure your time-off policy includes a clear process for Election Day leave requests. ? Communicate Early: Send out reminders about your company’s policy and employees’ rights to take voting leave. ? Consider Federal and State Law: Voting laws vary by state, so if you have multi-state operations, be aware of any additional requirements. For our fellow businesses in Wisconsin, employers must provide employees up to 3 consecutive hours to vote during polling hours if they don’t have sufficient time outside of work. Employees must notify their employer prior to Election Day, and employers have the right to decide when during the day this time can be taken. However, this time off may be unpaid unless otherwise agreed upon. Compliance with voting leave is not just a legal matter but a way to show your team that you value their voices.
