What an inspiring morning at the DFW Apprenticeship Accelerator. Attendees heard from successful employers utilizing an apprenticeship peogram to train and upskill their employees. Robert Flores represented Raytheon and their apprenticeship program in McKinney, as well as Sheneta C. who started an apprenticeship program at her center for medical asthetics & laser, also based in McKinney. Go #McKinney! A few other highlights: ?Meeting bright students in the L3 Technologies Pre-Apprenticeship Program. ? Meeting Juliet G. O. training K-12 students in STEAM programs ? And running into Brandi Harrison Trotter who is a driving force of #workforcedevelopment in #NTX. I had the honor of moderating an impactful employer and apprentice panels at the DFW Registered Apprenticeships Accelerator! This event was a powerful gathering of forward-thinking employers, ambitious apprentices, and workforce development champions committed to advancing registered apprenticeship opportunities across industries. Our panel discussion was an inspiring deep dive into the experiences of both employers and apprentices, each sharing their unique perspectives on the value of these programs. We explored how apprenticeships bridge skill gaps, offer hands-on learning, and create a robust talent pipeline that addresses workforce shortages while empowering individuals to pursue meaningful careers. Hearing firsthand how apprenticeships have transformed career paths, built confidence, and fostered new skills was a reminder of the real-world impact these programs have on individuals and organizations alike. A huge thank you to all the panelists and attendees who contributed to such a rich and insightful dialogue. It's inspiring to be part of a community working together to create opportunities, strengthen our workforce, and build the future of work. The DFW Apprenticeship Accelerator event was Spook-tacular! Not only were attendees festive for Halloween, but a great deal of information, resources, and even touching personal stories were shared. Two of our North Central Texas apprenticeship partners, Raytheon, an RTX Business and Skinology Wellness & Laser Institute, served on the employer panel to share their experience in and goals for thr RAPs. I am beyond proud of our pre-apprentices from L3Harris Technologies, Inc. for serving on the apprentice panel. These young men and young woman are forging a great pathway into the aviation industry and are seen as leaders by their peers. Thank you to all of our partner organizations for making this event possible and furthering the awareness and adoption of this training model.
