We love to support local businesses! Last year we served more than 240 businesses by providing recruitment assistance services. Check out our partner at Dinuba Health Care as they talk about how partnering with the WIB has helped their business to grow.

Recently the Tulare-Kings Healthcare Partnership hosted their November meeting at our office. This partnership includes 14 healthcare partners and numerous educational and workforce partners dedicated to building a stronger healthcare workforce in Tulare and Kings Counties.

We want to give a shout out to our amazing community partner the VisaliaEDC. For the last three years we have worked together to engage with businesses in the Visalia Industrial Park. This engagement has helped us to be able to share resources, tools, and services that continue to strengthen our local workforce and economy.

This week our team partnered with the Tulare County Office of Education College and Career Collaborative team to facilitate a Healthcare Sector Summit. High School CTE teachers and workforce professionals participated in tours of Kaweah Health, Family HealthCare Network, and Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency facilities and spoke with local healthcare professionals about the needs of the industry and how we can better prepare students to enter careers in healthcare.

At the WIB one of our core responsibilities is to convene industry. We are proud to be the convener of the Tulare-Kings Healthcare Partnership which brings together healthcare partners to discuss workforce needs for the region. Learn more about the partnership below.

This week, our team and many of our community partners participated in an amazing two-day facilitation training. We learned how to engage our audience so that they actively participate in brainstorming ideas, reaching a group consensus, and developing action plans.

Efren was unemployed and concerned about providing for his growing family. He enrolled in a free training program and took advantage of opportunities, and today, he is working full-time and has new goals for the future. We want to thank our friends at CivicMakers for the write up about our INNOVATORS by Design Conference. This year we have worked hard to ensure that we are implementing human-centered design in our policies, processes, and initiatives to ensure that our customers voices are heard and incorporated into the work we do.

For the last month the WIB team has been busy participating in the City of Visalia Corporate Games. We did great in a few events, not so great in some, but we had a great time together every time!
