A big thank you to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB) and Coastal Community Bank for their generous support of Workforce Snohomish! We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the $10,000 grant from Coastal Community Bank, which was matched and tripled by FHLB, Workforce Snohomish has received a total of $40,000 to help fund our Financial Empowerment Unit. We are excited to announce our partnership with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) to launch a pilot Financial Opportunity Center program right here in Snohomish County! Through this collaboration, Workforce Snohomish will help individuals and families achieve greater financial security by integrating holistic financial coaching services into workforce development programs. With LISC's support, we are building pathways to prosperity and personal well-being, working together to improve access to economic opportunity and financial security for all households in Snohomish County. This partnership comes at a pivotal time as LISC recently received a generous $65 million donation from MacKenzie Scott and Yield Giving, enabling their continued commitment to closing gaps in health, wealth, and opportunity. We’re proud to be part of this transformative work and excited to bring these powerful resources and impact to our region.
MacKenzie Scott and her organization, Yield Giving, are setting a new LISC record! Scott has generously gifted our #CDFI $65 million in unrestricted funding, which will enable LISC and our local partners to be more innovative, creative, and sustainable in our community work + impact nationwide. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eB-ftHAf This contribution builds on a $40 million gift from Scott in 2020, which LISC used to seed programs that narrow gaps in health, wealth and opportunity, particularly for communities of color. We are grateful for the continued partnership!
