We are an independent, nonpartisan organization focused on workforce development and innovation in Cincinnati and Hamilton County. Our diverse Board of Directors are comprised of regional leaders from business, education, organized labor, non-profit, and government. We oversee and implement the local area’s Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and collaborate with regional workforce partners to help strengthen the Tristate’s workforce ecosystem. We lead this work by setting the vision, policy, and performance expectations for the OhioMeansJobs (OMJ) regional workforce development system. The OMJ system and partners serve employers, job seekers, dislocated workers, veterans, youth & young adults, individuals with disabilities, returning citizens, and more. SWORWIB (SouthWest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board) is now Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio.

A big thank you to Leo Chan and the Asian Chamber of America for hosting us at their Board Social last week. I enjoyed the great discussion and the updates we received on current initiatives at the Asian Chamber were incredibly informative.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, which funds our programs, encourages collaboration with community groups, and that is an ethos we've embraced. This week, we had a meeting and celebration of our partners who provide workforce readiness services. As an activity, we wrote down what we were thankful for. In this season of gratitude, we are grateful for working with such dedicated and skilled teams. Thank you for your collaboration, and we are looking forward to continuing our work together and achieving even more in the future! #WIOA
