The Workers Justice Project (WJP) is workers rights hub that is organizing gig workers from the streets to the apps and transforming their industries to be a driver and source of quality jobs. We play an essential role of lifeline, safety net, entry-point, educator, and advocate to all workers, from the seasoned worker to the worker entering the 21st century industry for the first time.

In the face of an anti-immigrant, anti-worker era, we are ready to resist, defend, and fight for justice and workers’ rights. In partnership with NYS Senator @jessicaramos, @senatorjuliasalazar, NYS Assemblywoman @mmitaynes, @nyc_council38 (Alexa Aviles), @centrallabornyc, and @daylaborernetwork, we’re hosting Deferred Action Clinics this Friday and Saturday to help workers apply for Deferred Action For Labor Enforcement, a program that provides work authorization and deportation protection for the next four years. We are proud to be led by members who are standing up and organizing to fight for their rights and dignity. A special shoutout to @karinesreyes87, @_oscarcas, @emilyassembly for your support.
??? This morning, Los Deliveristas Unidos held a rally outside DoorDash HQ to demand unpaid wages, an end to unjust deactivations, and pay transparency. It’s unacceptable that billion-dollar apps are denying workers the pay they’ve earned and treating Deliveristas as disposable labor. Thank you to Transportation Alternatives for your solidarity.
#Somos2024 Recap: We kicked off #Somos2024 with a powerful panel on "Worker Solidarity: How Elected Officials Can Support Labor Organizing" featuring @helloDCWP Comm'r Vilda Mayuga, @NYSenatorRamos, @NYCComptroller, @claireforqueens, @nynurses, and @MaketheRoadNY. We also connected with @AmandaSeptimo about the LUCHA coalition, @BKBPReynoso on expanding Deliverista protections, and @MMitaynes, who met with @LosDeliveristas to discuss their priorities and the need for communities to shape a better future. The event culminated in a special dinner with @MMitaynes and Emmitt Mendoza, where Deliveristas leaders were heard and grassroots organizing was front and center. Huge thanks to @KarinesReyes87, Chair of @NYS_PRHTF, and @oscarcasNY, Executive Director of @NYS_PRHTF, for making #Somos2024 a space that truly uplifted @LosDeliveristas and @workersjusticep priorities.
