March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month. Our nonprofit partner Work Skills Corporation (WSC) shared a powerful video featuring Sean Rossi, a community member who shares his experience of being employed at The WellBridge Group and thriving in his role. This is just one example of how community, accessibility, and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities should be celebrated every day, not just in March. We are proud to support the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities campaign, “We’re Here All Year.” When people with developmental disabilities have access to education, employment, and the internet, they gain independence and help create stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone thrives. #WeReHereAllYear #DDAwareness #WebAccessibility Transcript: [Sean]: And action! I am Sean Rossi. I work at Brighton WellBridge. How do I feel to get a job? I feel good, happy, and proud to get a job. WorkSkills, when I met Heather, we talked about what job I liked to do. I like to help older people out, because I am the right guy to get the job, and help them out. [Heather]: Remember what all the people that live there, what they said about Sean? [Sean]: Yes. [Heather]:Remember? What did they say? [Sean]:They said, Sean is a hard, good hard worker, and Sean did a good job without a job coach. It's a little different without while I was by myself. I like to help myself. I got a time clock that when I come in, start the one job I do in the morning, helps me do the right tasks, and follow what cleaning supplies should be together.
