Content Marketer, Content Writer, Copywriter, Writer and Editor

Need words? I'll write them. I’m currently looking for my next full-time role in copywriting, content writing, content marketing and/or social media management. With over 11 years of online content writing and over 3.5 years of content marketing in my previous role, it's time for my next challenge. ?? I’d really appreciate it if you could repost and share this post with any relevant connections. For more context about my skills, most recently: ?? I had a blast as Content Marketer at Green Heart Collective, where I used my writing and creative skills to grow their social media organically to over 3000 combined followers on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin, handling everything from content strategy, to filming reels, photography, writing captions and growing Facebook groups. ?? In this role, I built a deep pool of blog content on preloved fashion using long tail keywords to get Green Heart on the first page of Google for various terms. ?? I have regularly written and designed monthly newsletters and sales emails in Brevo and Mailchimp ?? It felt really rewarding to secure national coverage across all ITV News regional channels after a journalist read the article I wrote on underconsumption and interviewed us as an 'expert' for a wider piece on that trend. And, on the side... ? I published my 345th article for LastWordOnSports.com and have been regularly editing other writers' work since 2019. ?? My freelance copywriting and social media management has expanded, and I'm sharpening my skills with Word Tonic's amazing copywriting course. ? Find my CV and portfolio at declanwiseman.co.uk Thank you in advance for your help! If there’s something I can do to support you in your job search, please let me know! #jobseeker?#jobseeking?#copywriter #contentwriter #marketing

    Freelance Copywriter & Journalist

Do You Need a College Degree to Be a Successful Writer? Absolutely not. I've been a published writer for a decade and have written hundreds of articles without stepping foot in a college class. Sometimes this comes with a bit of imposter syndrome, but here are some benefits to skipping university and jumping right into your dream career. 1. More Time for Practical Experience Instead of taking electives and core classes I had time to solely focus on becoming a better writer and practice writing engaging, concise pieces. You may also have more time to take on an internship, or pitch to publications. This gave me practical, real-world experience I could add to my portfolio. 2. Developing Self-Discipline There was no teacher assigning deadlines, so I had to develop a strong sense of self-discipline and adopt the "I am my own boss" mindset. This is a skill I will use for my entire freelancing career. 3. More Freedom to Find My Own Voice There are restrictions for what types of writing you can practice in university. There are things you can and cannot say and writing styles teachers won't find appropriate for the classroom. Not having these limits allowed me to explore my own voice and tone, especially for topics like sexual wellness and humor. 4. Self-teaching Is an Amazing Skill To Flex In the age of the internet, there are thousands of resources and communities that can make you a better writer. Example, communities like Word Tonic who host courses and masterclasses straight from industry pros. Learning to self-teach and seek out these resources is one of the most valuable skills you can nurture. The industry is ever-changing and engaging in these communities allows you to evolve, adapt, and always be improving. 5. Finally, NO STUDENT LOANS OR DEBT! This one is obvious. As higher education becomes less and less accessible, we have to remember there is absolutely a place for you in the industry. You don't need a BA to be an incredible writer, and there are even benefits to figuring it all out on your own.

    MA Screenwriter

Forget a cheeky Gin and Tonic in this lovely weather, I'm all about Word Tonic! After a bit of a rocky start this year, we get through the absolute calamity that is the 60 days of January only for February to land me unemployed, I knew it was time to stop playing it safe and take the plunge into actually putting my Masters in Screenwriting to use and join the copywirting comunity that is Word Tonic! Not exactly the script writing I had in mind when graduating last year, but it's helping me go in the right direction of my dreams, and before you all start I'm only on Lesson 4 of the 'Become a Copywriter Course', and it has rekindled my spark and passion for writing that somehow got put out about February last year ?? The actual teaching is refreshing and acessible, I can go at my own pace and the community is happy to help, to some it dosen't seem like much but as a self proclaimed oxymoron of being a Dyslexic wirter these small touches mean so much to me and hopfully others in the community! But why am I shouting from the rooftops about this? Well, over the past 3 weeks of haunting my house, I'm wanting to test and push myself into writing reviews for TV and Film along with Games that I have played (I'm about a day and a half deep into Monster Hunter Wilds and I need to give my opinion as a person who enjoys video games but is who also notorusly bad at playing them), I want to use my passions for media and writing to do something meaningful for the creative arts. Not saying im the Gordon Ramsey of Film but someone has to remind the Acadamy you can't snub Elton John for best original song for AI dribble when the muppets reigned supreme in 2013 (if you know you know) Anyway, I'll stop rambling for now and share that hopefully, by the end of the month, I will have a semi-functioning portfolio site and blog to share with everyone and will be networking like the ?Girlboss? I am in theory! #copywriting #blogging #screenwriting #nextsteps #Girlbossing

Content writer | B2B SaaS | From "just another blog" to content you'll want to reread

"We care about our customers" is not a marketing strategy. Actually helping them is. I recently subscribed to Word Tonic, a Gen-Z copywriting community (and yes, I’m 1998—made it into the club by a hair) For a month, I was technically in—but with work taking over, I barely had time to check out their resources. So, I decided to pause my subscription and come back later when I could actually use it. A pretty standard scenario. Here’s where most businesses would do one of three things: ?? Send me a “We’re sad to see you go ??” email (I promise, we’ll both survive) ?? Offer a limited-time discount to lure me back ?? Hit me with a newsletter I never signed up for, packed with “valuable” insights I never asked for But Word Tonic did something different. They reached out—not to convince me to stay, but to ask if there was anything they could do to support me. And then? They actually delivered. They built a personalized guide to help me navigate their resources. Not some generic “best of” list—a guide aligned with my specific goals. Even put my name on it. Absolutely adorable. Back to the topic. Helping your customer is caring. Not in a “sending good vibes” way, but in a this-makes-business-sense way. Because when you truly help people get value from your product, they: ? remember you ? trust you ? actually use (and keep paying for) what you offer So tonight, I’ll be binge-watching SEO masterclasses thanks to a brand that understands what customer care actually means. Expect more posts about my SEO wins soon, haha!

It's been a while, so here's a bit of an update while my website and portfolio are undergoing a revamp. After taking a short break and navigating life as a new mother, I am BACK baby. While I'm still dedicating a good chunk of my time to freelance journalism, I'm excited to be expanding into copywriting and ad design. We are in such a special age where big brands are understanding the value of Gen Z voices and perspectives. Growing up during the early ages of the internet, I have a deep understanding of internet culture and social trends I am excited to tap into. In the past, I've been quoted in publications like Buzzfeed News about my opinions on the way we engage in the modern world. . As of right now, I have some availability to take on new projects that can range anywhere from snappy social copy to long format podcast scripts. I'm super grateful for communities like Word Tonic that helped me realize there's a market for the work I've been already been practicing for years I am so excited to connect and continue building creative relationships.

?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ???? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? How am I a stacked pancake? Making my way through Word Tonic’s super awesome copywriting course and nearing its end. It’s made me more confident in my abilities as a gen-z writer and I’ll forever be grateful. I’ve built up my LinkedIn, found more connection with fellow writers and even scored some work experience. To anyone new to me and my page, welcome! I’m glad to have you in my connections. I’ve been thinking a lot about being a writer and writing in general. One of WT’s homework on the course is to think of yourself as a stacked pancake. How am I a irresistible and sweet stack of pancakes? ?? Well: ?? I’ve been conceptualizing (daydreaming) and writing stories since I was 12. Teachers have always said how I had a wild and unique imagination. ?? I have two degrees, a BA in English and Creative Writing where I got a 2:1 grade and an MA in Creative Writing where I got a distinction grade. ?? I’ve had two of my works published already, a creative non-fiction piece called ‘The Burning Man’ and a poem titled ‘A Father’s Smile’. ?? I run my own writer’s website that I started when I was 16. I post my creative work: short stories, poems and non-fiction. I also create spec copy for my work portfolio. ?? Currently writing a historical fantasy novel ‘The Duellist’. ?? I paint and draw, mostly cats in weird poses/clothing but I also draw my OCs. ?? I like reading books and graphic novels, currently my favourite genre is historical, but I do like fantasy (especially when it’s mixed with the realism) and sci-fi. ?? I have an obsession over dnd, regency, cats and BG3 ?? I also have dyslexia, which has made me better at my editing and proofreading skills. Does this make me a stacked pancake? mmm... pancakes... I love a good pancake… wow all this talk about pancakes makes me wanna make some. Luckily Shrove Tuesday is tomorrow! ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ???? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? #pancakes #LinkedIn #Writing #blogpost #Writer #FreelanceWriter

    I like to write things.

Oooof, I am late to posting. And new to it too. I like to think of myself as someone who is technologically inclined until it comes to actually using a new software and I get overwhelmed. The usual stuff. I joined a community that’s making a name for themselves pretty dang fast within its respected corporate field. Which is hilarious. Gen-Z are seen as not the most professional and it shows when coming to this community and the craziest part is massive companies are reaching out to this group of people because of their attitude towards work, because they aren’t afraid to show themselves and be themselves. It is beyond empowering. One of their core beliefs is to do something you find scary and this is certainly one of them for me. The community is called Word Tonic and they are a growing and fantastic community of Gen-Z copywriters which I am beyond proud to say that I am a part of. The knowledge pool is insane. The resources are massive. The community is beyond supportive. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.

    GEN-Z Copywriting Community

?? "You're a nepo-baby." "You don't deserve to shirk away from education." "Scammer." I get comments like this on the daily from random internet people. It doesn't hurt me, but when it comes from other young #genz people like me - especially fellow women? That kind of sucks. But it inspired me to tell my story again. Because I'm not a nepo-baby. It took a lot of hard work to get to where I am today, writing for a living as a #copywriter. And no, I don't run Word Tonic; a community of 2,000 gen-z copywriters to 'scam' people. I love what I do and so much of my personal life is tied into my 'why' behind Word Tonic. I created this community to create a more accessible route into the #copywriting and #advertising industry for other young people like me. An alternative route in that isn't thousands of pounds like a degree. A route in that gives you first-hand access to amazing brands like Duolingo and Spotify. To weekly workshops and portfolio building opportunities. To connection and community. And I'll keep doing it ?? ??♀? #wordtonic #copywriting #copywritersunite #freelancing #youngpeople #genz #advertising #marketing #community #copywritingcommunity
