Now known as the Worcester County Chamber of Commerce in Ocean Pines! The planned community of Ocean Pines opened for business in July of 1968. Nestled on 3,500 acres of former farm and wooded land with over nine miles of waterfront property, Ocean Pines began as a quiet resort area. While the five mile distance from Ocean City has not changed, the face of Ocean Pines has aged gracefully over the decades. Following a rapid growth and development of both the residential and business communities, the Ocean Pines Chamber of Commerce was organized as a separate entity for the benefit of business and commercial interests in 1975. In the first twelve months of existence, the Chamber grew to 65 members. Today our Chamber boasts a membership of over 350 businesses and we continue to grow as we cater to the year round business and consumer communities.

BIG DEAL ALERT! We are beyond proud to have been selected by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation as the only Eastern Shore host for their 2024-2025 school year #NationalCivicsBee. If your middle school student resides in Maryland, they are eligible, public, private, and homeschooled! Worcester County Public Schools and Worcester Preparatory School have committed to participating this year. Still, we wish to provide this opportunity to ALL MD middle schoolers across the eastern shore. Interested? Let your school district know! Whats involved? Fall 2024 - students will write an essay on the provided civics topics. Winter 2025- essays will be judged and 20 selected for the competition. Spring 2025 - Those 20 students will compete in the local Civics Bee June 2025 - The top 3 students move on to the state competition Fall 2025 - each state sends its top student to the national competition in DC.
