Every spring, representatives from the WooSox, the WooSox Foundation, and AbbVie team up to renovate a local Little League field to make their Opening Day extra special. We look to our fans to help us select a baseball or softball field in Central Mass that is in need of an upgrade. To submit a nomination for this year's "AbbVie Field of Dreams" recipient, please fill out this form by our WooSox Opening Day on Friday, March 28: https://lnkd.in/ghCs5De5. We thank our friends at AbbVie for helping us provide local ballplayers with the field of their dreams!

Congratulations, Mari! The WooSox are proud to be your friend and your collaborator. Thank you for making Worcester a better place??
Business Leaders of the Year: Giving back is in Mari Gonzalez’s blood. Her parents, Maria and Osiris Reyes, founded El Buen Samaritano in Worcester in 1991, with the purpose of serving those in need. When her parents came to her and her siblings in 2016 saying they couldn’t continue to run their Worcester nonprofit, Gonzalez knew she couldn’t let the organization she’d seen do so much good disappear. https://lnkd.in/e-zM3DqW

Honored to Be Named Nonprofit Business Leader of the Year 2025 I am deeply honored to be recognized as Nonprofit Business Leader of the Year by the Worcester Business Journal. This recognition is not just mine—it belongs to the dedicated volunteers, supporters, and community members who make this work possible. A few reflections on this journey: Continuing the Legacy: My parents founded El Buen Samaritano in 1991 because they saw a need in our community. As the middle child of four siblings, I felt a deep responsibility to ensure that their mission of compassion and support continued. Keeping their legacy alive is not just a duty but a calling. The Power of Relationships: Serving a community is not something you do alone. The relationships I have built over the years have been instrumental in keeping our doors open and expanding our impact. Collaboration, trust, and shared purpose have made all the difference. Passion & Dedication: I have always led with love, determination, and unwavering commitment—never asking for permission to serve, but instead taking action to meet the needs of those around me. Faith & Community: I give all glory to God. Our work is possible because of the love, support, and trust that this community has placed in me and our mission. Commitment to Action: Challenges will always exist, but I choose to focus on solutions—on showing up, making a difference, and ensuring our community receives the resources and support they deserve. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words, messages, and calls. Your support means the world.
