“There’s a lot of coastal mapping, dredge spoil surveys, and more that needs to be done to support navigation safety, national security, coastal resilience, disaster mitigation, etc.,” Woolpert Vice President and Maritime Market Director David Neff, C.H. said. “We took this novel approach by combining our advancing resources and technologies with those of Chance Maritime Technologies, and it proved successful for all involved. We’re excited to build on this technology partnership to advance our maritime efficiencies while still collecting and delivering the highest quality geospatial data.” #maritime #mapping #coastalresilience Ryan Cross Stuart Chance Michael Scherer

This month, our aviation team attended the groundbreaking event for the new?Frosty Jones Terminal at Huntingburg Regional Airport in Huntingburg, Indiana! Woolpert is proud to be providing survey, design, construction management, and grant administration?services for this significant development. “The Frosty Jones Terminal, named after the founder of the airport, will replace the outdated terminal building that has been in use since the 1960s. The new modern facility will enhance office and meeting spaces, provide classrooms for local students, and offer rest areas for pilots,” Woolpert Project Manager Nick Kowalkowski, PE, ENV SP said.?“Working together with the Federal Aviation Administration and Indiana Department of Transportation, we have been able to leverage the BIL ATP program to enhance the airport's facilities and contribute to the community's growth and development.” You can read more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/gAVrfgYJ #aviation #HuntingburgIN Jill Elder, NCARB, AIA Christopher Snyder Eric Risner, PS, PMP Curtis Brown, PE, ENV SP John Baer, PE Nick Isenberg Lindsey Wolanczyk

Did you know: Mapping glaciers is a critical component of geo hazard mapping. Receding glaciers increase the likelihood of slope failures, which can cause tsunamis.? ?? This year, World Water Day is dedicated to discussing the importance of glacier preservation. ? ? In 2020,?Woolpert surveyed the vicinity of Barry Glacier in response to a joint NOAA Coast Survey and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) request. The USGS reported concern of an imminent slope failure within the area that could cause a tsunami in the region including the city of Whittier, Alaska. This survey aided critical tsunami inundation models and supports local and regional stakeholders in their coastal resilience planning efforts.? ? A look at one of our survey team's recent projects in Washington D.C.! The data will be used to support new infrastructure projects in the region. #NationalSurveyorsWeek #hydrography #survey #geospatial
?? Exciting Project Highlight! ?? ? Woolpert recently completed a project in Washington DC capturing data in the Potomac River using cutting-edge hydrographic technology. By deploying a combination of R2Sonic MBES and EdgeTech Marine SSS hydrographic sensors, we were able to seamlessly collect bathymetric data to create high-precision final products. ? Our team’s Hydrospatial approach — integrating Woolpert's architecture, engineering, and geospatial expertise — ensures that every project is data-driven and innovative. We’re proud to continue pushing boundaries and delivering solutions that matter. ? #Hydrospatial #Woolpert #EngineeringExcellence #GeospatialInnovation #HydrographicSurvey #Architecture #PotomacRiver #AEG #Engineering #Geospatial #InnovationInAction QPS
