A career advice that I no longer take:
? Say yes to every opportunity ??
?
I was a graphic designer who loves the dopamine of people adoring my work and bring me on board with small design gigs regularly. So I said "yes" a lot, thinking quantity can show off my skills & experiences that could give me more clients. Sadly, this was the habit that kept me from growing my craft.??
? I got too comfortable with making the same thing again n' again.??
? I was not challenged to try out new framework or tools.?
? My projects does not have impact, they are as flat and fleeting as how I approached them.?
? I wasted my time & energy on low return-on-investment projects.?
??I looked just like everybody else.?
?
So after years of fallen for this comfort trap, I learnt to:?
? Say yes only to opportunities that brings me growth, impact, and open doors.??
?
? It was very uncomfortable, but my skillset expands.?
? My projects have depth, demonstrating my actual thinking skill and strategy as a designer, which is muchhhh more market-ready.?
? I began pursuing product design!?
?
