Woodside will be at the The Salvation Army Camden Kroc Center on Friday, March 28th from 9-11 am for a senior social. Treats and refreshments will be served, along with free gifts and it will be a great chance for community members to connect with organizations like Woodside to discover more about what each organization has to offer. I wouldn't often post a birthday celebration we had at Woodside for a resident on LinkedIn, but yesterday we celebrated a very special birthday. Margaret turned 103 years young! It is days like yesterday that make me feel truly blessed to work at Woodside. Happy Birthday Margaret!

Woodside Senior Communities was at Bellin College on Monday spending time with students from Luxemburg-Casco High School, Tomahawk High School and Algoma High School. Bellin offers a great opportunity for high school students to experience health care by setting up stations that each group of high school students experiences for 25 minutes per station. We gave the students the Dementia Tour which is designed to strip away your senses and make you feel like someone who has dementia might feel. It is a great experience for everyone and the students loved it! We had a lot of fun at Bellin working with the students and look forward to going there again soon! https://lnkd.in/g_hMG7hm

The Volunteer Center of Brown County hosted the Volunteer Expo at the Botanical Garden yesterday. What a great opportunity to get out and meet some community members who have an interest in volunteering at Woodside. It is such a rewarding experience. Since we are in the month of celebrating love, we've had many themed events at Woodside centering around Valentine's Day and love. Of course, Valentine's Day is more about celebrating the love between significant others, but we can extend it to all of our loved ones. Take some time to make someone feel special today. I promise it will come back at you many times over. What I have witnessed in our building this month was another reminder of what is really important in life. Creating memories and taking care of those in our families and communities is really what life is all about, or at least the most important part of life. We had our couples Valentine's dinner today at Woodside for our residents and tenants of the Oaks and the Manor. It was a special dinner for special couples, and our dietary team did an amazing job of creating a meal fitting of that. We all dined on tenderloin, mashed potatoes, green beans with bacon and a dinner roll! What an awesome meal with lots of love being spread around. This is a part of an awesome month of recognizing our significant others and everyone we love. Give someone you love a hug today! It matters! Have a great weekend my friends!

Our amazing friends from Bridge The Gap came and paid us a visit to have some fun and play some bingo with our residents! How do you spell fun? B-I-N-G-O, of course! Everyone walked away a winner from this bingo game. It is always amazing when the youth of our community get together with our awesome senior residents! Happy Thursday! I wanted to share a quick story with you. One of our talented tenants (Gail) at the Oaks created the picture you see below using a technique called diamond art. I polled our Facebook audience and asked how long they thought it took Gail to make this masterpiece, letting our audience know whoever had the closest guess would win a prize. It took Gail 47 hours to make this gem, and Chris had the closest guess with 42 hours. It turns out Chris had worked for us in the past for 12 years and wanted to donate his gift to one of his friends he worked with while at Woodside. You can see Deo pictured below with his Woodside knit cap and blanket. Chris put a big smile on Deo's face today and that is worth sharing!
