Woodside’s innovative approach to seismic testing has been awarded a US patent. Correctly measuring subsalt variations has challenged the seismic industry for as long as subsalt wells have been drilled. But a new method developed by Woodside’s Gulf of Mexico team is yielding impressive results that are improving data quality and efficiency. Woodside’s patented technology employs a combination of Ocean Bottom Nodes (OBN), Full Waveform Inversion, and an extended Seismic Source Halo around the Ocean Bottom Nodes. Great campaign by The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia highlighting the role of WA's energy and resources in everyday life. CME CEO Rebecca Tomkinson said while the economic contribution of WA’s world-leading resources sector was relatively well understood, there was less appreciation for the huge array of uses for the minerals and gas produced within WA. “Especially because those resources are only becoming more important as we transition to a low-emission future." This month our LGBTQIA+ employee impact group VIBE, hosted our annual Partners in Pride event supported by Deloitte, Shell, EY, BHP, KPMG, Chevron and INPEX Australia. We heard from Woodside’s Senior Vice President Human Resources – Ruth Lyall, The Pinnacle Foundation CEO – Andrew Staite and VIBE Co-Chair – Josh Flaherty. A panel discussion hosted by Alyce Schotte (Pride in Diversity) on intersectionality within the LGBTQIA+ community with representatives from supporting organisations was insightful and eye opening.

Dramatic pictures as we celebrate a significant milestone in the Trion Project. The steel-cutting ceremony for the floating production unit (FPU) took place at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea. This ceremony marks a crucial step forward in the development of the project, which aims to bring first oil in 2028. Woodside CEO Meg O'Neill and EVP & COO International Daniel Kalms were present at the event, highlighting the importance of this partnership with HHI, Pemex and the Mexican Government. The Trion field, located in the Gulf of Mexico, represents a major greenfield development that holds great potential for Mexico’s deepwater oil production and is expected to deliver around 100,000 barrels of oil per day upon completion. We are proud to be part of this transformative project and look forward to the continued collaboration with our valued partners.

Great to see Woodside Energy among the Top 5 performers in the inaugural Openly Transparency Index. The Index assesses transparency behaviours in corporate-government dealings and ranks companies on such things as disclosures of gifts to public officials, lobbying and use of confidential government information.

Team Woodside showed up for diversity and inclusion at the recent DiverseCity Summit, hosted every year by Greater Houston Partnership. The summit brings together professionals from across Houston for conversations on advancing talent as a key driver of business success and future growth in the Houston region. Our very own Kate Griener, Senior Inclusion & Diversity Adviser, moderated an executive panel, where participants shared how companies can align I&D goals with their business priorities to foster commitment, ownership, and accountability.

We’re off to the races! Woodside is pedaling for a purpose and we invited our colleagues at Bechtel Corporation and Baker Hughes to join in the fun of our annual tricycle race. In support of United Way of Greater Houston, together we raised $150,000 to give back to the Houston community.
