What we're reading: Woods Fund Chicago grantee partner Latino Union of Chicago along with Raise the Floor Alliance and the People's Law Office filed a federal lawsuit uncovering patterns of targeted violence and harassment against migrants and Latinx day laborers in search of work. City Bureau investigates the lawsuit's allegations, identifying escalating mistreatment as migrant populations continue to arrive in Chicago. “Seeking happy [and] healthy lives should be something that anybody [who] resides in the city should be able to do. Unfortunately, a lot of those things … are criminalized,” said Latino Union Executive Director Miguel Alvelo Rivera. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gzK53f4T
