关于我们
Founded in 1966, the Woodruff Health Sciences Center at Emory University is named for the legendary leader of The Coca-Cola Company, Robert W. Woodruff. It includes three schools, a national primate research center, a cancer institute, four research and educational units, and the most comprehensive health care system in Georgia. With nearly 35,000 employees, the Woodruff Health Sciences Center helps make Emory the largest employer in metro Atlanta. And while most center facilities are located in the Atlanta area, our reach extends far beyond the borders of metro Atlanta. Ten regional affiliate hospitals and a clinically integrated physician network allow us to serve communities throughout Georgia while our research partnerships and global health initiatives provides Emory an opportunity to improve health outcomes around the world.

Newton, who leads the Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement, to talk about philanthropic investment and how it's not just about the amount raised but about how the spirit of giving drives differentiation.?

A new study led by researchers at Emory University and University of Pittsburgh reveals that pre-existing immunity to seasonal H1N1 flu may explain why most human cases of H5N1 bird flu in the U.S. haven't resulted in fatal outcomes. Senior author Dr. Seema Lakdawala emphasizes, "Pre-existing immunity against H1N1 can make H5N1 infections less severe, but young children, immunocompromised individuals, and those with underlying health conditions can still get seriously ill." Learn more about how this study could impact pandemic risk assessments and our understanding of flu immunity - https://lnkd.in/eUFFzs2H #Influenza #BirdFlu #FluSeason #PublicHealth
