The subscription ecommerce market is growing by more than 100 percent a year. It’s not hard to see why. Two words: predictable revenue. In addition to recurring revenue, a subscription business model can increase customer retention, boost loyalty, enhance insights, and grow customer lifetime value, among other benefits. Ready to sell subscriptions on your Woo store? Keep reading for six steps to get set up. 1. CHOOSE A NICHE. If you’re going to sell subscriptions, you should start with something you’re passionate about. A beloved brand starts with you. 2. SOURCE AND PACKAGE YOUR PRODUCTS. Determine how you’ll source and package your products. Will you be creating your products by hand? Will you hire a manufacturer to create your products? Or will you repackage existing products? 3. BUILD YOUR ONLINE STORE. WooCommerce provides all the tools you need to get an online store up and running on your WordPress website. And unlike many other subscription ecommerce platforms, WooCommerce is free to use. 4. CHOOSE A PRICING STRUCTURE. With WooCommerce, you can structure subscriptions in your online store several different ways: sell individual, recurring products; offer one-off products with a subscription option; sell subscription boxes; or let your customers build their own subscription box with discounted bundles. 5. SET UP SHIPPING. Determine how you’d like to ship your products. Two of the most common considerations when it comes to shipping are which carrier you will use and how you will charge for shipping. 6.REACH NEW CUSTOMERS. Now that your store is live, you’ll need to find subscribers. That means using a variety of marketing tools to bring in new customers. Remember that successful marketing requires consistency and experimentation — it might take time to find the perfect strategy. START SELLING SUBSCRIPTIONS. Now that you know why a subscription business model is a smart move, and you’ve got your handy to-do list for getting started, you’re ready to start selling.
