Ross and Target, two incredible partners in our Wonderful Logistics Center, took the time to visit the Wonderful Career Center and meet with our soon-to-be graduating Maintenance Technician Apprentices. They didn’t just stop by, they shared what life looks like in their operations, answered thoughtful questions, and gave these apprentices a clear, honest picture of what’s ahead. These are the kinds of conversations that build confidence and open doors to real opportunities. This is collaboration at its finest. Wonderful recently announced a historic $5.5 million gift to the Shafter Recreation & Park District (SRPD), to bring SRPD’s longtime vision for safe, quality recreational facilities to life. This state-of-the-art community sports complex will serve thousands of residents across Shafter, Bakersfield, Wasco, McFarland, and other neighboring communities. Funding for the first phase was made possible by co-founders Lynda and Stewart Resnick, through their foundation, in partnership with local and state funding agencies. It is history making – this is the largest gift to Shafter and to a parks and recreation district in Kern County. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Andy Anzaldo, chief operating officer of Corporate Social Responsibility, shared: “The Central Valley is home to thousands of our employees and their families, and Shafter sits at the center of where we operate.
