#Reuse and #refill are key if we want to lower our environmental impact, and were relevant topics in #SustainabilityinPackaging conference. To me personally it is very interesting to see how in my life time (and I’m not that old!) I have seen packaging “evolve” to have more and more single packaging and be going back again to reuse alternatives. And is it great too see all the options where current technologies can make reuse alternatives more exciting and efficient. There is so much to do, so much to be defined, and so many obstacles to overcome. There also seem to be many bold persons, ideas and initiatives to tackle the challenge. Listening to what people like Heather Watkins from Bold Reuse and Amelia Eichel from Wonderfil are doing, and the customer behavior change their initiatives are helping achieve, was absolutely inspiring. I definitely end this inspired to keep working, both personally and professionally, to be part of the solution, including setting up a good example for those around me, and keep working on Spearhead Global team ‘s sustainability initiatives. Last October, fine print soapy connoisseurs?Dr. Bronner's?recently unveiled refill stations at five Whole Foods Market locations in California. By abstaining from buying a new bottle, refilling their own vessel will help consumers save up to 13%. Not only can you mix scents (fun, but also potentially weird), but you can also refill any container you want. The refill stations, from Wonderfil, can precisely calculate how much product you dispense in real-time, and similar to filling up your car at the gas station, folks will know how much the refill will cost them as the product fills the bottle. Refill stations are a wonderful way to reduce plastic while creating a positive brand experience. It’s an instant benefit you recognize at The Coca-Cola Company Freestyle or Kadeya. Praise to the women founders at Wonderfil and Kadeya who are fed up with plastic and want a better experience and outcome for our planet. Climate change is daunting, and the sheer amount of changes we need to make to address it is overwhelming. I feel grateful to be able to channel all that of that worry into Wonderfil -- using my hands, creativity, voice, and collaboration to make real progress towards replacing fossil fuels/single-use plastics. Working with this team of friends to help secure a livable future gives me hope and purpose when it feels like all of the odds are stacked against us.

This Dr. Bronner's refill station designed by Wonderfil is gorgeous, and really quite fun to use! They're piloting now at a few sites in NorCal, and create a fantastic circular system for packaging use.
