Founded in 2020, Wonder Girls is an after-school program for female high school students with a mission to build confidence, leadership, and the necessary business skills to succeed. We believe that every Wonder Girl deserves the opportunity to thrive as leaders of their own lives despite economic, social, or educational challenges. As successful female professionals, we want to make a positive impact on the lives of our Wonder Girls and foster our future female leaders who are ready to make a difference! Wonder Girls program is currently available for female high school students in Rockland, New York, and Bergen, New Jersey Counties in September 2021. Wonder Girls is a component fund of the Rockland Community Foundation. In keeping with the regulations for community foundations, Wonder Girls is a charitable instrument under RCF's umbrella. All donations made to Wonder Girls go directly into the fund and are 100% tax deductible.

A core part of the Wonder Girls program is to cultivate a sense of social responsibility and emphasize the importance of giving back to those in need.??Food insecurity was the theme for this?month's community outreach. In simple terms, food insecurity is when people don't have enough to eat and don't know where their next meal will come from.?Did you know....? --47 million people in the US, including 14 million children, are food insecure - impacting their mental and physical wellbeing, as well as their school and work --100% of counties in the US have food insecurity - this is happening in our backyards --50M+ people turned to food assistance programs in 2023 - food banks, pantries, and community organizations support our neighbors in accessing affordable, nutritious food for themselves and their families This week, the Wonder Girls of Northern Highlands Regional High School filled 150 bags of food to be donated to the Rockland Community College Food Pantry, Hawk's Hub, which offers free non-perishable groceries and?personal hygiene products for students experiencing need.? Thank you to all those who helped in making it happen - Wonder Girls, Saddle River Valley Junior Women's Club, Goya Foods and Evos Logistics.
