? Big News! ? At the start of this year, I reflected on how I could make a greater impact—bridging the gap between our present reality and the vision of just, thriving schools for both students and educators. Now more than ever, we need to cultivate the next generation of edu-changemakers to ensure a strong, equitable future for public education. With that, I’m beyond excited to share that I’m joining Penn State as the new Recruitment & Student Engagement Officer for the College of Education! ???? This isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. I’ve always believed that belonging is the foundation of learning, and now I have the opportunity to help future educators (whether in the classroom or beyond) find their place, build their community, and step into their purpose. This new chapter comes with a bittersweet farewell. Leaving Goshen Post Elementary isn’t easy—it has been more than a school; it’s been a place where belonging, authenticity, and impact shaped every moment. Thank you for trusting me, embracing my Miss Frizzle energy, and allowing Room 142 to be our very own Magic School Bus, where curiosity thrived and students discovered their passions and potential. ??? Catalysts for Change: Lessons from Galaxy Digital and Yale SOM This week has been nothing short of amazing. I kicked it off with my EmpowerChain(TM) workshop at Galaxy, working alongside two talented former CS colleagues (Anastasia Efremova and Zane Glauber, CFA) and Jonathan Goldowsky. We explored how Blockchain can be a force for good—tackling big societal challenges while inspiring innovation and collaboration. The energy in the room was palpable, and it reminded me of the power organizations have to be true catalysts for change. Then, thanks to Rebekah Wellons, I found myself at Yale School of Management as part of their Net Impact Social Impact Week, sitting on a panel with Alex Kasavin and Sabrina Ling (both, very impressive impact leaders). Our discussion, “Operating at the &: Bridging Impact to the Private Sector and Beyond”, was a chance to share how purpose and profit can (and must!) go hand-in-hand. What truly made my week, though, were the incredible next-generation leaders I had the chance to meet. Their drive, curiosity, and passion to make the world better lit a spark in me. One Yale student said, “You’re hard to describe, but I really like it.” Another shared, “You three were the best panelists we’ve had.” At Galaxy, the feedback was just as heartfelt. These moments reminded me that I’m in a season of life where I get to blend my GenX experience with GenZ energy—and it’s liberating. If I can spend my days equipping and empowering the next wave of leaders and changemakers, I’ll know I’ve lived a joyous and meaningful life. I’m so grateful for the journey that brought me here and for the opportunity to show up as my most authentic self in rooms like these. To the next generation: you inspire me. SOUND THE ALARM ?? and SHARE! To GOD Be The Glory! It’s been over a year of being in a federal court case and now it’s finally dismissed! A few things that need to be clarified: 1. This is a WIN and positive outcome for the Fearless Fund and our community. 2. The US federal court of appeals stopped the Fearless Strivers grant program for Black women on June 3rd ruling suggesting we were in violation of the law. This program has not been operating since it entered the appeals process back in September 2023 and it was at its conclusion of the grant program when the court case began August 2023, it was designed to award 6 people in one year and it was at its end when the case began. 3. We strategically avoided a Supreme Court ruling (the deadline to appeal our appeal has passed) because a ruling not in our favor at the Supreme Court would’ve ended minority based funding across the country and that would not be wise, we have already seen the Supreme Court ruling for the colleges end affirmative action for all colleges in schools and admissions. 4. Elections have consequences, we have had 3 federal rulings in this process where 4 Trump appointed judges ruled against us, 2 Clinton and 1 Obama appointed judges ruled for us. The writing is on the wall of who wants this work to continue and who does not. Be sure to vote November 5th! 5. This work is important because the statistics for the underfunded are overwhelming and this is why we have invested millions of dollars and awarded grants to over 500. 6. Any false narrative floating that anyone is claiming we are not moving forward at the Fearless Fund is not true, what is true is that we are proud to announce our new debt fund (our loan program is live on our website) for under resourced entrepreneurs- male and female! 7. The one grant program the US appeals courts stopped was funding 6 entrepreneurs, this new program will touch over 3000 entrepreneurs, that sounds like a WIN to me.
