WiRE - Women in Restoration & Engineering - began at a time when there were few organizations that provided hands-on events and other live learning opportunities for women, specifically focused on the technical basics for emerging professionals. The partnerships we developed to bring Women in the Built World Symposiums are my favorite WiRE accomplishments. Even during the pandemic, the smaller virtual events became an avenue for making connections and building community. Since that time, there are other wonderful and energetic organizations that bring opportunity for live networking in various regions. WiRE has pivoted to focus on virtual learning so that women around the world can connect. More specifically to build a webinar library spotlighting women presenting on a variety of technical topics to provide learning AND showcasing amazing women in roles to inspire our younger women, give them a sense of what career options are available, and welcome them to the built world industry. Thank you to all who have attended events, been sponsors, involved WiRE Directors, speakers, partners, helped with outreach, and our loyal members! Thank you also to our behind-the-scenes support staff who have been a monumental help in running WiRE. You all truly mean the world to me, and I am so very appreciative!!
