Did you know? Only 30% of WIF members give to the annual fund each year. Today, we wanted to introduce you to two women who are sharing their story of giving, members Caitlin Donley and Bonnie Blair. Your contribution to the Annual Fund, whether or not you are a member, ensures that our programs, grant recipients, staff and members are all able to continue the powerful philanthropic work they do in our community each year. Did you know the WIF Annual Fund contributes more than 25% of WIF’s operating budget? Member dues, alone, do not cover the full operating cost of Women's Impact Fund ... that's why we have the Annual Fund! Contributing to the Annual Fund will ensure that members, the organizations we support, our employees, and more can continue the work they do each year in our local community. Learn more and contribute today by visiting our website: https://ow.ly/INCw50U6aRr

On today's Member Monday, we're getting to know Maudelyn Greene. In her chat with us, Maudelyn shared more about her childhood background, which has driven her meaningful contributions as a member of WIF. When Maudelyn was just 6-years-old, the war in Liberia (her home country) began. It disrupted her life, claimed over 250,000 lives including her sister, and exposed Maudelyn to atrocities no child should see. Although it was a difficult childhood, it also prepared her for life’s complexities. Learn more about Maudelyn's story on our blog (https://ow.ly/5iZn50U6chE), then drop Maudelyn a ?? below! Maudelyn, we are so grateful to have you as a member of the Women's Impact Fund!!

Over fourteen women attended last month’s Coffee Social at Change Please Coffee in the Innovation Barn! It was a lively group – some meeting for the first time, while others catching up after not connecting in a while. Discussions were vast and intriguing and varied from mentions of the previous week’s Social Hour for Social Issues with Dr. Jonathan Fisher, the state of nonprofits in Charlotte, the importance of women’s networking opportunities, home remodels, new business ventures, and more. It’s always nice to gather and learn from others. Coffee and monthly socials are a great way to do this in an intimate atmosphere. Our next gathering is tomorrow at The Penguin Drive-In. You can still register here: https://ow.ly/EObI50U6akh

Each year on November 11, we honor those who have served our nation in the Armed Services on Veteran's Day. If you get a chance, make sure to thank a veteran today for their bravery, courage and sacrifice. Their choice to serve our country allows each of us to enjoy the freedoms that we experience each and every day. And, don't forget, women make up about 10% of our veterans! Do you have a woman veteran in your life? Make sure to thank her today.

What is the WIF Annual Fund and why does it matter? Simply put, member dues alone do not cover the full cost of membership in WIF. The Annual Fund allows us to close the gap between the dues we collect and the total cost of operating our organization. Contributing to the Annual Fund will ensures that we can continue to offer our events, networking opportunities, and all that we do outside of grantmaking! Want to give today? Click here to donate: https://lnkd.in/e9vwQc8Q
