?? Networking: From Established Brand Representative to Startup Founder ?? Networking has always been part of my professional journey, but representing an established brand in the past came with its comforts. I rarely had to explain my reasons for being in the room. However, stepping into those same spaces as a female founder building Bhive from scratch has been vastly different—and transformative. Six months ago, I walked into networking spaces armed with nothing but an idea: a solution to help people find the right hair products. That idea resonated, and through countless conversations, I validated the D2C need for Bhive. But I didn’t stop there. By continuously putting myself in rooms with people from diverse backgrounds, industries and experience levels—whether in-person, online, or even in social settings (I can’t help myself! )—I’ve refined my pitch and grown in confidence. And now, armed with Bhive's working prototype, those efforts have paid off. I’ve landed meetings with leading retailers and brands ??? who see the potential in Bhive and are keen to stay connected as we develop further. These conversations have validated the B2B need for Bhive as a tool to help consumers find the right hair products while addressing the challenges retailers and brands face in meeting customer needs. Speaking directly with market leaders about their pain points and how Bhive can make a difference has been inspiring and has filled me with excitement for 2025. As we approach the festive season ??, it feels like the perfect time to recharge my social battery ??, reflect on how far Bhive has come, and prepare for an incredible year ahead with my co-founder Rachel Long-Smith. ?? Not forgetting a huge thank you to the events and supporting communities that really made their mark - Women of Web3, Next Big Thing, Translate Culture, Super Connector Media, LLC, CEW UK, 100 Allies, Dreamland Shaded The Studio, ATOMIC (by Andrew and Pete), Two Chicks Female Founders Rise, BUY WOMEN BUILT, Beauty Dinners, Y Combinator, SeedLegals, Rare Founders Here’s to more conversations, connections, and Bhive’s continued growth in 2025! ??

? Marketing in the Power of AI ? I loved attending The Next Big's AI-powered marketing event at Google's stunning Kings Cross office. The evening was packed with brilliant keynotes all showcasing how AI can support creatives, strategists, brand marketers, and business owners in boosting marketing creativity and effectiveness. A few highlights that stood out for me: ?? Heather Murray from AI for Non-Techies shared her “3 C’s of Prompting”: 1. Character (Who are you in the prompt? Add tone-of-voice guidance) 2. Content (What do you want it to say? Provide examples) 3. Clarity (What’s missing? Add precise instructions) Plus, her tip for excluding certain cringe words (like the infamous "delve") was rad. Ask nicely, and she might even share her list! ?? Ben Wynne-Simmons from VEED.IO dropped some mind-blowing stats: - We now consume 17 HOURS of online video a week. - Video has a +60% info retention rate. - Subtitles boost watch time by 80%! In Canada, subtitles are legally required. ? A huge thank you to the amazing speakers: especially Lauren Ingram (from Next Big Thing) for her leadership, Jess MacIntyre & Natalie Moores (Mac+Moore) for warning us against AI's over-flattering tendency, and Google's Benjamin (Ha?m) Sadik for his top safety tips. It was an absolute pleasure learning from you all! Check out the carousel for my favorite AI tools mentioned during the event. #CreativeInnovation #AIMarketing #MarketingTech

Had an amazing time at the AI in Marketing event hosted at the Google office last night! ?? With the rapid emergence of AI tools like ChatGPT across industries, as a marketer, I'm always curious about how to harness its potential to drive smarter campaigns and better results. Last night’s event, hosted by Lauren Ingram and Next Big Thing, left me inspired about the bright future ahead! Heather Murray’s "3Cs" framework for AI prompts was a real eye-opener. From Google’s insights on Safe AI in Marketing Campaigns to VEED.IO to take on leveraging AI for ?? video content creation, it’s clear that AI is transforming marketing in exciting ways. However, "Don't let it flatter you". One of the most sincere pieces of advice came from Mac+Moore during their "reluctant" AI journey. So, don't get lost in the compliment from AI. ?? Big thanks to everyone who made the event so insightful and engaging. Excited to see where AI takes us next! ??

What a great event yesterday on AI Powered Marketing organised by Lauren Ingram Founder of Next Big Thing at the Google offices. I met Heather Murray in person who through her very energetic keynote gave us insights into 'AI Copy is Crap: Here's What to do About It'. I loved the 3Cs - Character, Context and Clarity to prompt properly. I am always trying and testing my prompts to get a better output! Benjamin (Ha?m) Sadik (Ha?m) Sadie, Google's AI engineer presented 'Safe AI in Marketing Campaigns' and how important it is to have an ethical AI culture - a topic close to my heart. Ben Wynne-Simmons, VEED's Senior Director of Product Operations who talked us through going beyond the buzz with AI tools. And a lightning talk from Natalie Moores & Jess Mac+Moore on 5 things they have learned about AI. There are so many tools being announced every day. I use ChatGPT, Midjourney and Perplexity. What tools are you using? Share your tools here.

Last night, the BRETOM team had the pleasure of attending the AI-powered marketing event hosted by Lauren Ingram (Founder of Next Big Thing and Women of Web3) at Google HQ London.? ? It was a great night filled with valuable tips on harnessing AI and making it more approachable for marketers. ? A big thank you to all the wonderful speakers: Heather Murray, Natalie Moores, Jess MacIntyre, Ben Wynne-Simmons and Google’s Benjamin (Ha?m) Sadik and Olesia P. ? AI might seem new and daunting, but it has been evolving ever since the 1950s! Instead of rejecting it, we should learn to embrace it and understand how best it can complement human intelligence and creativity – NOT replace it. ? Here are a few takeaways that stood out to me: ? The sandwich analogy: Heather Murray shared a great analogy, comparing AI tools to the filling in a sandwich, with marketers or copywriters as the bread. We are essential for guiding and taking charge of our content, rather than letting AI take over. Just as no one wants a mushy sandwich with too much filling, overly automated AI content often misses the mark. Using AI the right way is key to creating the best content (and the perfect sandwich!). ? “Don’t let AI flatter you”:?The Mac+Moore sisters (Natalie Moores and Jess MacIntyre) reminded us, "Don’t let AI flatter you." Instead of asking AI for an opinion (bias!!), ask for some constructive feedback. AI is a tool, not a decision-maker, and human judgement always plays the most important role, so make sure you have the final say. ? Thank you again to Lauren Ingram, Google and all the speakers for a wonderful evening.
