We had an empowering session at our Women in Tech?Romania event! Our panelists shared their insights and personal stories on mentorship, allyship, and sponsorship, highlighting how these factors play a crucial role in shaping careers in technology, and not only. ?? Key Takeaways: ?? ???????????????????? As Raluca and Elena pointed out, mentorship is a powerful tool in navigating professional growth. Having a mentor helps open doors, provides guidance, and encourages us to push our limits. Both being a mentor and seeking one fosters mutual growth and learning in our journey. Finding mentors who inspire and challenge us is essential for professional success. ?? ?? ???????????????? Bogdan shared his views on the significance of allyship. Allyship involves actively supporting women and underrepresented groups by using one's voice and influence to create a more inclusive workplace. For allies, it’s about listening, taking action, and amplifying the voices that need to be heard. Making friends and building relationships is key to navigating the corporate world and enjoying the journey. ?? ?? ?????????????????????? Mihnea highlighted the difference between mentorship and sponsorship. While mentors offer advice, sponsors actively advocate for you in critical situations, such as promotions or new job opportunities. Sponsors help open doors to opportunities that may not be visible otherwise, making sponsorship a vital part of career growth. In the tech industry, and beyond, it's critical for women to seek out and build these relationships. Mentors guide, sponsors promote, and allies support.
