Challenging Power and Privilege For Gender Equity in Health
关于我们
Women in Global Health (WGH) was founded in 2015 when four women in the health sector met on social media outraged that women are the majority in the sector but hold only a minority of global health leadership roles. Today, we are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with 55 Chapters in 51 countries, and over 6,000 members. We are the largest and loudest women-led movement demanding gender equity in leadership, career opportunities, and pay; safe and decent working conditions; and gender equity in universal health coverage and health emergency preparedness and response. We build alliances and our own movement so women in global health will be heard. We are working towards a world that enables women from all regions to be leaders in global health and catalysts for better health for all.

Health should empower, not impoverish! No one should have to choose between their health and financial stability.?Accessible, affordable healthcare is a right, not a privilege.?It’s time to push for health systems that lift women up, not push them into hardship. #HealthForAll #WomenInGH #GenderEqualHealth #WGHNigeria #RightNotPrivilege

Racism is not just an individual act. It is structural, systemic, and deeply ingrained in healthcare. Women, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, face both racial and gender discrimination, from being mistaken for assistants to being denied promotions and excluded from decision-making. But we are not invisible. The voices of women in global health must be heard, valued, and centered. Ending racism means dismantling barriers, amplifying intersectional experiences, and demanding accountability. ?Equity in healthcare starts with equity for healthcare workers. #fightracism #Intersectionality #HealthEquity
