Our Mission: To provide awareness, education and support to all those affected by breast cancer

关于我们

Women Supporting Women is a grassroots organization that serves the Eastern Shore. Our mission is to provide awareness, education and support to all those affected by breast cancer. Local Services. Local Support. Background: WSW was started by three local women: Harriette Fine, Carol Prager, and Sue Revelle. The first meeting of Women Supporting Women was in July 1993 in the waiting room of the Radiation Department of Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Throughout the years our office has changed locations and currently resides off of Rt. 50 at 1320 Belmont Ave. Ste. 402. Some of our services include prosthetic breast fittings, wigs, educational tote bags and community related events to educate the public. All of our services are FREE. In addition to our main office, support groups are held in the surrounding counties of Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, and Dorchester. Dates and times may vary. This organization is tax exempt and we receive funding from grants, donations through community organizations as well as businesses and individuals. All contributions remain here on the Shore and are returned to our community in various ways. For more information, call Women Supporting Women at 410-548-7880 or e-mail [email protected].

  • This is a reminder that the Berlin Support Group meets tomorrow afternoon with special guest, Kaitlin Barry! Kaitlin will be speaking with Survivors about lymphedema and offer tips to manage it. To learn more about Kaitlin, read her bio below! "I’m Kaitlin Barry, an Occupational Therapist, certified oncology rehab specialist, certified lymphedema therapist (CLT), & the founder of Magothy Therapy & Wellness. With over 16 years of clinical experience, including 10 years as an OT and 8 years specializing in oncology, lymphedema, lipedema, and neurological conditions, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals overcome challenges and improve their quality of life. As a CLT, I’m passionate about supporting those recovering from oncology & aesthetic procedures by providing specialized care focusing on reducing swelling, managing pain, and increasing endurance. My approach includes care that only a CLT can deliver with complete decongestive therapy (manual lymphatic drainage, therapeutic exercise, skincare & compression garments). These strategies combined with complimentary conservative therapeutic techniques, nutrition strategies, and education to give you the tools and confidence to manage your health effectively. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge, resources, and support your needs to take charge of your journey. I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to be part of your path toward improved health and vitality!" We can not wait to have Kaitlin at our meeting and we think her knowledge and experience with lymphedema will be extremely insightful for attendees. If you struggle with lymphedema, want to learn more about it, or have a question for Kaitlin, please consider attending! For any questions or concerns, please call the WSW Office at 410-548-7880.
