Five years ago, the founding members of WAHN's National board took the amazing foundation started in Atlanta and the chapters that followed in Ohio, North Carolina and Indiana, and put together a framework that would take Women's Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) national. CEO & President Ashley Prendergast Northcutt shares some incredible WAHN impacts, highlights wins from 2024 and provides a preview of what's coming in 2025 in her annual video address. Thanks to the passion of our members, the commitment of our allies, and the generosity of our sponsors, WAHN has become a movement with momentum and has so much unbelievable support from inside and outside our industry. We're grateful. We're excited. We're ready for what's next.

We are delighted to announce that Michele Stowe, PCC, founder of SkyRocket Coaching and former Chief Operating Officer of Mercy Housing, will be our keynote speaker at WAHN Summit 2025! With over 20 years of leadership experience, Michele has a proven track record of driving organizational success. Many of our industries top leaders have worked with Michele and attest to her natural ability to bring out the very best in people. During her tenure at Mercy Housing, one of the nation's largest affordable housing organizations, Michele led initiatives in strategic planning, philanthropy, human resources, information technology, and marketing. She notably created the "Leadership Foundations" program, a comprehensive talent management initiative that structured everything—from onboarding to succession planning—around the organization's core values. She incorporates research-based approaches that foster creativity and self-discovery, including, occasionally, a comic book coaching tool that she created and that, she proudly notes, Stan Lee himself has endorsed. At SkyRocket Coaching, Michele continues her commitment to leadership development, specializing in executive and team coaching. Her innovative approach combines proven assessment tools with creative techniques, fostering environments where leaders can thrive. Outside of her work, Michele hikes, skis, and coaches a dragon boat team. She and her family live in Denver. We look forward to the insights and inspiration Michele will share at Summit 2025, guiding us all to 'skyrocket' our leadership potential.

This Women's History Month, we celebrate the legacy of Barbara Jaco, or Babbie as we all know her, a powerhouse in affordable housing whose journey from secretary to CEO is nothing short of inspiring. In this special WAHNcast episode, Babbie shares her incredible career story—growing a company from three employees to over 550, navigating the industry’s evolution, and leading with both heart and grit. Now in retirement (but busier than ever!), she reflects on the importance of ethics, mentorship, and building a workplace where people want to stay. She also shares wisdom from the books that shaped her leadership, the power of heart work, and her unforgettable philosophy of flying by Buick to get the job done. From making multimillion-dollar decisions to making her mom’s coffee just right, Babbie reminds us that every season of life has its own leadership lessons. Tune in for a conversation filled with wisdom, humor, and the kind of real talk that makes Babbie an industry icon. Thank you to Capita Financial Network and Churchill Stateside Group for generously sponsoring this episode of WAHNcast. All links to the episode are in the comments. #WAHNcast #WomensHistoryMonth #HeartWork #FlyByBuick #AffordableHousing #Leadership
