Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Women of OZ NWA RISE Forum here in Bentonville! In addition to riding with the USA professional cyclists in the morning, the afternoon was full of great sessions with industry professionals. Here are a few of my favorite takeaways: ?? Ashley (Ash) Lovell, Ph.D. from PeopleForBikes reenforced the importance of accessibility to biking, whether for fun or for transportation. From obtaining a bike to easy access to trails and bike lanes, these things make a difference in active transportation and recreation in our communities. ?? Erika Lehman from USA Cycling unpacked so many pieces of great workplace, career, and leadership advice. One of my favorite things she shared was “good ideas often fail due to poor execution.” When reevaluating if an idea was effective, it’s important to also assess if the initiative was given the proper resources to be successful. ?? The icing on the cake from the day was Allyson de la Houssaye from PeopleForBikesNWA’s insightful and honest conversation with Olympic Silver Medalist Haley Batten. Haley is such an inspiration of what it means to set goals and work hard to achieve them! It’s an exciting time to work, live, and bike in Bentonville. I love seeing the community committed to active transportation and driving representation in cycling. Excited for what’s next!

Let’s Ride Together! Breaking down barriers, building community & empowering women, both on & off the bike.
关于我们
WOZ focuses on breaking down the barriers of entry to mountain biking by providing access in 3 main ways: 1) Education through free & low-cost clinics 2) Equipment through our generous partners 3) Creating a space where anyone who identifies as a woman can come and experience the joys and challenges of mountain biking. All skill levels, ages, backgrounds, and abilities are welcome! WOZ hosts free group rides on the first Saturday of each month where riders are grouped by skill level from beginner ("I'm brand new to this! Help!") to advanced ("Black Diamond trails? Awesome!"). After the ride, we hold post-ride socials so women can gather to share wins, swap phone numbers, develop relationships and build community. In between Flagship rides, we host weekly pop-up rides, clinics and more. Connect with us on Facebook or Instagram to learn more about our upcoming events and get plugged into an incredible community! If you’re interested in supporting our no-cost community programming, please contact Ginny Brady to learn more. [email protected] Let's Ride Together!
