??Happy International Women’s Day?? HERE’S TO STRONG WOMEN: MAY WE KNOW THEM. MAY WE BE THEM. MAY WE RAISE THEM.

Together we promote all women of aquatics to fiercely pursue their ambition and potential.
关于我们
A need was identified to create a network that would support the professional women active in the historically under represented field of aquatics, as well as to encourage students and younger women beginning their careers. The opportunity for this organization was seen as a vehicle to not only encourage women to continue participating in a male dominated field, but also to increase their involvement to enhance their professional life, provide advancement opportunities, and achieve personal fulfillment.

Today seems like an appropriate day to welcome another BUCKEYE to the Women of Aquatics Board of Directors! McKenna Cimperman is our newest Director, and we are excited to welcome her to our leadership team! Raised in Westerville, OH, McKenna's lifelong passion for the outdoors began with her active involvement in sports such as baseball, rowing, and rugby. Her love for nature and exploration ultimately guided her career path in natural resources. McKenna is a proud Buckeye, having earned her Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University, majoring in Fisheries, Forestry, and Wildlife. Since 2021, she has been an Aquatic Field Technician with The Lake Doctors, where she excels in fostering strong relationships with clients, coworkers, and stakeholders while delivering exceptional customer service in managing waterways. Her dedication to educating others, and her expertise in native aquatic plants and wildlife, and passion for advancing women in our discipline make her a valuable addition to our leadership team. Outside of her professional endeavors, McKenna enjoys camping, traveling, and spending quality time with her fiancé, Jake, and their beloved pets. Welcome aboard, McKenna!

We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Jaime Fullerton to our Board of Directors! Jaime works as the Fisheries Division Manager and Fisheries Biologist for Foster Lake & Pond Management out of Clayton, North Carolina. From an early age, Jaime fell in love with the natural world around her, spending much of her time fishing, camping, hiking, and riding horses. Falling in love with the outdoors made her career choice an easy one. Jaime attended Lenoir-Rhyne University as a collegiate swimmer and graduated in 2020 with her B.S in Environmental Science and Policy. That same year, she began pursuing her master’s degree through Clemson University, and began working as an intern for Foster Lake in 2022, while working two other part time jobs. In May 2023, she graduated with her M.S in Fisheries and Wildlife Resources and began working full-time with Foster Lake as an aquatic specialist. Since then, she has moved into a Fisheries Division Manager role. Jaime finds great satisfaction by working with her team to help clients across North and South Carolina achieve their dream fisheries, whether it be trophy largemouth bass management or recreational fisheries management. Additionally, she focuses heavily on water quality and vegetation management to create healthy and thriving ecosystems. Born and raised in North Carolina, she is a Carolina girl at heart. In her free time, she enjoys training and competing in powerlifting, spending time with her fiancé, Trey, and their cat, Finn, reading, collecting vinyl, fishing, hunting, and camping/hiking across the country. She has big goals to visit all 50 states and 63 national parks. Jaime recently joined Women of Aquatics in 2024 and finds great joy in culturing connections with other women in the industry. She is passionate about creating an exciting and welcoming environment for the future generation of women in our field. She is excited to take her passion for educating the world on lake and water management to the next level, and we are so happy to be by her side as she does it! Welcome to the leadership team, Jaime!

Meet our Midwest Regional Student Director for Women of Aquatics, Madeline Hetland! We are thrilled to have Madeline on our board of directors. Currently, she’s an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, studying Water Resources and Aquatic Science, bringing knowledge and enthusiasm to our organization. Madeline’s involvement on campus includes membership in the American Water Resources Association and the Women in Natural Resources student organizations. Additionally, she serves as the Extension Outreach Coordinator for the Ichthyology and Aquarium Science Society, where she actively volunteers in maintaining a diverse fish collection. With hands-on experience in the AIS program at her local county's Land and Water Conservation Department, she has conducted water quality assessments, surveys, and educational outreach in the community. Madeline’s passion for aquatic ecosystems is complemented by her love of nature; whether it's exploring the shores of Lake Superior or tending to her many houseplants in a custom greenhouse cabinet, she finds joy in all things water and conservation. We're excited to have her as part of our team and look forward to the impact she will make in empowering women in the aquatics field! #WomenOfAquatics #StudentDirector #AquaticScience #EnvironmentalStewardship
