With the 69th Commission on the Status of Women underway at the UN, these global discussions highlight that real progress requires collective efforts across borders and industries. Digital & financial inclusion – Millions of women are still locked out of digital and financial systems, limiting their ability to start businesses, build wealth, and access resources. ?? Sustainable investment in women – Funding isn’t just necessary—it’s an economic imperative. Without long-term financial backing, efforts to advance women’s economic mobility lack the scale and longevity needed for real impact. Women must be at the center of the #globaleconomy. The Harlem African Burial Ground is the resting place for freed and enslaved New Yorkers from the 1600s until the 1880s. Our Senior Project Manager Saradine Pierre shares how NYCEDC and the Harlem African Burial Ground Initiative (formerly known as Harlem African Burial Ground Task Force) are working to honor and memorialize an important part of the city's history.
