Women-led Games brings recognition to the hard working women in the games industry with a yearly showcase showing off all the innovative games coming from women-led and majority women studios. We aim to highlight all the amazing things women do in games and support their efforts in order to create a more equitable games industry. Let’s celebrate women-led games! ?? This past week, my team at Speldosa Interactive had our games ????????: ?????????????????? and ?????????????? ?????????????????? featured in the WINGS Interactive's Women’s Day Sale on Steam and the Women-Led Games Showcase—huge thanks again to Charmaine Duff for including our trailer! ?? However, we weren’t the only ones from Science Park Sk?vde’s Incubator taking part in this Steam event! Let me highlight two inspiring founders: ? Tilla Segerstedt founder of Aurora Arts AB is creating the cozy creature-collecting game ?????? & ?????????? and has impressively secured funding not once, but twice (!!) with the support of an amazing team! She also keeps our incubator fun with exciting events ?? ? Nora Mattsson co-founder of Studio Downstairs is, together with an awesome team, crafting the innovative horror game ???????? ???? ???? ??????????, which already has a growing fanbase from its early Itch.io release. Women-Led Games Showcase returns for our March event on March 6th, 4pm PT/ 7pm ET! Hosted by @pinkfairyflower, we'll be showing off new demos, game announcements, game releases, deep dives, and MORE! Check it out on YouTube, IGN, and GameSpot.
Women-Led Games is supporting games at DreamHack Dallas! DreamHack We're excited to announce our partnership with DreamHack Dallas as one of their official curators! WLG will have a dedicated space to show off games by Women-Led Teams at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas from May 24-27! There are 3 different options for participation: 1: Sign up for your very own booth at DreamHack through WLG. If chosen, you will be provided with 2 - 4 badges for Dreamhack Dallas, a 10x10 foot Pipe and Drape booth with 10 amps of power, a table, and two chairs at no cost to you. You will be responsible for: * Bringing your game to showcase (including necessary hardware - The power drop can support about 4 laptops or 2 computers) * Ensuring someone is always at your booth from 9 am to 6pm all 3 days (set up is May 24th at 4pm CT and booth days are 9am - 6pm from May 25-27 ) * Travel to and from Dallas * Hotel/ accommodations If you'd like to apply for one of these booths under WLG, fill out this form and select "Women-Led Games" when asked which group you're associated with: https://lnkd.in/g23963bd 2: Showcase your game at the WLG booth if you can't attend yourself. Did you know you don't have to be a woman to follow and support Women-Led Games? I get asked that a lot (mainly from men), "can I support WLG or join the community as a man?" YES. ALWAYS. PLEASE DO. Women-Led Games exists to highlight studios led by women because honestly... they are typically the last to be seen. In fact, out of all investments, women-led businesses received only 2% of funding last year... 2%... Can you imagine? Being a dev out there right now (a nightmare as it is already), but also trying to raise money to sustain your studio knowing that in a "good" year you're only likely to have a 2% chance at raising anything? We're here because we love games. We loving gaming. We love creators. Of all genders!! And we want to see EVERYONE have a chance to thrive. If you support that. Give us a follow. Show your support.
