I don't have a #FunFriday for you today due to obvious reasons, but I do have an #InspiringFriday, a #ResilientFriday, a #GrowthFriday, a #NeverGiveUpFriday. Because our work and efforts towards gender diversity in #STEAM will not stop as long as we have a say in this. Even more so when organizations such as SAP & SAP SuccessFactors are backing up, pitching in, and joining the movement. And with women like Martine Fase, Gerda Slagter, Sanne Cornée Heeringa-Noordam, Lieke (Cornelia) Lamb, and the others in the room, I am not as afraid as I was Wednesday morning. What is belonging? Have you ever felt like you didn't belong? Is belonging contextual or existential? What can you do to start feeling like you belong? What can your leaders do to make you feel like you belong? What can organizations do better to make their employees feel like they belong? We covered questions like these in a room full of smart, sharp, ambitious women, and it was a breath of fresh air coming after two days of mentally suffocating. We're paving the road for women who know they deserve a seat at the table. Women in Tech?Netherlands is paving the road for our and future generations to come. Watch us cook!

What if you bring SAP Business Women's Network NL and Women in Tech?Netherlands together and organize an event on the topic of belonging? You get energy, passion, enthusiasm and a fantastic interaction between women. We started with an inspirational speaker Sanne Cornée Heeringa-Noordam, Head of SAP SuccessFactors NL, who shared her view on belonging. What is it like to be a female leader in a male-dominated industry, how can you make sure that the people in your team feel they belong and are there times when you felt you did not belong or you did not include others? Food for thought for the brainstorming / networking activity. In groups we talked about topics like: ?? is belonging contextual or existential? ?? what does it mean to you to belong? ?? do organizations gain any tangible benefit if their employees belong? ?? when did someone advocate for you? Of course we also took some time to introduce BWN NL and Women in Tech Nl and enjoyed drinks & snacks during a get to know each other.
