This past weekend I had the amazing opportunity to present my research at the Women in Sports Data Symposium + Hackathon in Philadelphia. The project focused on finding the optimal defensive positioning in volleyball using an adapted k-means clustering algorithm. I had a great time listening to the other technical talks, hearing from panelists about their work, and meeting many important women in the industry. Had a great weekend in Philly at the Women in Sports Data Symposium + Hackathon representing the Toronto Blue Jays! There were a lot of great presentations and panels spanning a variety of sports. It was awesome to listen and connect with so many smart women in sport!
