Build the world you want to live in. There are lots of ways of honoring Women’s History Month, from celebrating women’s achievements to highlighting persisting inequalities. But we’re doing Women’s History Month differently this year. We’re creating a new reality. Last week we held the first day of classes at the WOMEM CEO Academy, to give women the tools, knowledge and support they need to become CEOs of mobility, energy or manufacturing startups. We’re working with incredibly accomplished women to not only get them the skills they need, but also create placement opportunities by partnering with VCs and other organizations to build a new reality together. As always, thank you to those who are creating that world with us. ?? #WomenInIndustry 4.0 | Women in Mobility - WIM | #WomenInEnergy Israel Innovation Authority ???? ??????? | Ministry of Economy and Industry-???? ?????? ???????? | Startup Nation Central | IEC - Israel Electric Corporation ???? ????? ?????? ??"? | Konnect - Volkswagen Group Innovation Hub TLV | BAZAN Group Oil Refineries Ltd | Arkin Capital | Ford Israel - Research Center | Pearl Cohen #InternationalWomensDay #WomensHistoryMonth #mobility #energy #manufacturing #BeTheChange

Pro tip about how to promote gender diversity this International Women’s Day: ? Chocolates, flowers and manicures aren’t what puts more women in the C-suite. You know what does? ? Building a leadership funnel to advance women’s professional development and retain top talent. The good news is we’ve been building just such a program, and have been perfecting it within the Women in Mobility community. The even better news is: ?? ????’???? ?????? ?????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????? ????????????????, ???????????? & ?????????????????????????? ?????????? ???? ?????????????????? ?????? ?????????? ?????????????????? ?????????????? ?????? ??????????????????. The WOMEM Mentoring Program for Companies is designed to foster gender-diverse leadership and strengthen mentors, mentees and your company. ?? For mentors: Strengthens leadership, fosters personal growth and enhances coaching skills. ?? For mentees: Accelerates career development, builds skills and increases engagement & loyalty ?? For companies: Retains top talent, increases diversity, drives innovation (diverse teams have been shown to innovate 30% faster and solve problems 60% more effectively) and improves profitability (companies with gender-diverse leadership have been shown to be 21% more profitable) Ready to walk the walk this Women’s Day? ??Learn how to implement the mentoring program at YOUR company. We interviewed about 4 dozen women for the WOMEM CEO Academy, and we found 2 themes coming up over and over that businesses would do well to keep in mind if they want to hire, promote and retain more women – not just on #InternationalWomensDay, which takes place this week, but every day of the year: 1?? ???????????? ???? ???????????? ???? ?????? ??????????????, ???????????????? & ?????????????? Though their personal career path is important to the women who applied for the CEO Academy, it’s far from their only motivating factor. Most of the women we spoke to said they’re looking to make an impact. That’s why they’re in the mobility, energy and manufacturing space in the first place, and they’re looking to make an impact both within their organization and on the industry and society as a whole. ?? Businesses that are serious about recruiting women to leadership roles should emphasize the impact those women can make as leaders if they join the company or accept a promotion. 2?? ?????????????????????? ??????????’?? ?????????????????????????????? The candidates we spoke to are hard-working, productive leaders – and they want to be recognized for it. Some were frustrated when executives were brought in from the outside even though their organization had the talent internally. Though we as women need to work on overcoming the social norms of waiting to be asked and to make it clear that, yes, we do want that promotion, at the same time businesses need to work on meeting the women in their organizations halfway. There are many ways to do this: ?? Recognize your employees’ accomplishments, ask about their professional goals, conduct leadership assessments, run training programs, invite women to throw their hat in the ring, and offer promotions to those who have shown their worth. Businesses that genuinely care about bringing more women into the organization – and especially into leadership roles – should focus on emphasizing impact, recognizing women’s accomplishments, and helping them grow even further. #mobility #energy #manufacturing #WomenInMobility #WomenInBusiness

Yesterday’s opening event for the WOMEM CEO Academy has us so incredibly excited about the power of togetherness! At your interviews, so many of you told us that you're often the only woman in the room. But yesterday the room was full of women as all 20 CEO Academy participants got a chance to meet the other mobility, energy and manufacturing powerhouses in the debut cohort. It’s already clear that you will be giving each other the power to fly, and we cannot wait to see the impact you make! ?? Congratulations to the first WOMEM CEO Academy cohort! Congratulations to the 20 WOMEM? (Women in Mobility, Energy & Manufacturing) who were selected for the first cohort of the WOMEM CEO Academy! ?? Before we kick off the debut cohort, we wanted to take you behind the scenes: ?79 impressive women applied (significantly more than the 50 applicants we were hoping for!) We held phone interviews with 46 of those applicants. And conducted in-person interviews with 26 of them. We were blown away by every single one of the applicants, each of whom went out of her comfort zone to apply to the WOMEM CEO Academy in order to get the tools to help her make an impact. Ultimately, we selected 20 inspiring women to participate in the debut cohort and are thrilled to be kicking off with our opening event this week! There’s a zing ? we felt yesterday, at the mentor kickoff meeting for our 4th WIMentoring cohort, that’s hard to put into words. It’s the kind of energy that comes from bringing together some of the most high-powered women in the mobility space and putting them in the same room. The latest WIMentoring journey is about to begin, and there’s palpable excitement in the air! For our generous mentors, it’s about being part of something bigger. ?? It’s about giving a hand to the other women climbing the ladder behind them or next to them. So that more women can make more of an impact, both on the mobility industry and on the entire ecosystem influenced by it. Being a mentor is not about solving all the mentees’ problems for them, but about guiding the mentees with questions that help them find the answers for themselves. ??To use a mobility metaphor, mentors are there to display multiple route options and make some navigation suggestions. But ultimately the mentees are the ones behind the wheel. A massive thank you to the rock star mentors who are super busy and yet said a big resounding YES to this important project! ?? Efrat Barit, Ofira Rubin, Gali Glatt Simhi, Michal Geva, Yali Harari, Rola Bisharat, Rinat Yogev, Lior Swissa, Orly Joseph, Michal Yeret-Amit, Yael Rivkind, Laura Hoffman Schaeftler ????? ????? ????? & Daphna Steinmetz Special thanks to Shibolet & Co. and Iris Pappo for recognizing this program’s ripple affect on the mobility ecosystem! ?? We wish all the latest WIMentoring mentors and mentees a successful, insightful and supportive journey! Bon voyage! ??♀? And as always, kudos to the amazing Women in Mobility team for making this happen! ??
