Winter quarter is in full swing, and we hope everyone is off to a strong start! Before we dive into the exciting events planned for this quarter, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible activities, opportunities, and connections from the fall quarter. We kicked off the academic year with a meaningful Q&A session with Sal Mungia, hosted in collaboration with the Latinx Law Student Association. It was an inspiring conversation about advocacy, equity, and navigating the legal profession. Next, we hosted a panel discussion featuring current law students and accomplished legal professionals. A huge thank you to our amazing panelists—Fadumo Roble, Ilinca Slabu, Yoseph Ghazal, and?Rachel Khadivi—for sharing their unique journeys and practical insights with our members. Finally, we wrapped up the quarter with an LSAT Info Night, led by our dedicated LSAT Coordinator,?Hannah Owen, in collaboration with UW’s Pre-Law Academic Fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta (PAD). This session was a great resource for demystifying the LSAT and preparing for the law school application process. We’re so excited for the opportunities winter quarter will bring. With summer starting, we wanted to recap all the fantastic things the Women in Law Society accomplished during the spring quarter! Firstly, a huge round of applause to everyone for taking time out of your busy schedules and attending our events. We had an absolute blast meeting everyone and hosting such amazing events. We started the quarter with a fundraiser and an incredible opportunity to tour the UW Law School with some WILS board members. It was an eye-opening experience, and we learned so much about the campus and the resources available to us as future law students. We also hosted two inspiring guest speakers: Liz Porter and Sahar Fathi. Their insights into the legal profession were invaluable, and hearing about personal stories and experiences was motivating! We are grateful for their time and wisdom. This quarter we hosted our very first gala, in collaboration with JSSA. It was a lovely evening filled with great food, engaging conversations, and wonderful company. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it a night to remember. A special thank you to the following consulates: Michael Biggins, Roger Meece, Prakash Gupta, and Carlos Jose Arroyave Prera. To wrap up the quarter, we hosted a WILS picnic. It was a perfect way to end the term, with tons of snacks, fun games, and a chance to relax and enjoy each other's company. A Special shoutout to Nika Samsavar for being such an amazing role model for the rest of us on board. Congrats on graduating we can’t wait to see all you accomplish in the future. Hi Huskies! As we kick off another exciting quarter, we wanted to take a moment and do a quick recap of all the fantastic things we accomplished during the winter months. Firstly, a huge round of applause to each and every one of you for making our winter quarter so memorable. We had an absolute blast meeting everyone and hosting such amazing events. To start things off, we teamed up with the First Generation Leaders in Pre-Law at UW for a joint social at Little Thai. It was a laid-back evening filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and plenty of opportunities to connect and network with other pre-law students. Next up, we had the incredible opportunity to host an interview with UW Law Professor Mireille Butler. Professor Butler's insights into the legal field were nothing short of inspiring, and hearing her journey into law was a real eye-opener. She reminded us all of the importance of being able to “demystify the world around us” and how every single one of us is capable of succeeding. We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day by hosting a Galentines Cookie Decorating event. It was so nice to see so many of you come together to decorate cookies, share laughs, and make new connections. A special shoutout to our lovely LSAT coordinator, Hannah Owen for leading an informative session on the latest changes to the LSAT and offering invaluable tips on how to prepare.
