We teamed up with Black Girls Code LA for Hack the System: Code for Health Justice, a WiDS NextGen event in Los Angeles that helped teach students ages 13-17 to use data science for health equity. This free event featured hands-on workshops led by women mentors in tech, helping students build skills and explore pathways in data science careers. In this year’s global challenge we will utilize demographic, diagnostic, and functional MRI data from the Healthy Brain Network (HBN) and the Reproducible Brain Charts project (RBC). Proud to have co-hosted a WiDS (Women in Data Science) event at The Dorris-Eaton School with my partner Tanisha, where we had the privilege of sharing our passion for data science with over 100 middle schoolers! We were thrilled to have Ms. Pritha Chaudhuri join us as a guest speaker, providing valuable insights into the field. It was inspiring to see the excitement and curiosity from the students, and to show them how data science can solve real-world problems.
