Two of our members had the opportunity to attend the third annual Women in Business Night at PNC Park. They enjoyed a panel featuring inspiring and accomplished women, followed by a Pittsburgh Pirates game. The main takeaway was to embrace your strengths and abilities without doubt. A big thank you to the Pittsburgh Pirates team for a fun and enlightening evening!

Management Trainee at Enterprise Mobility | Completed Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania | Former Member of Women in Business | Class of 2024
Last night, was my last ever meeting in Women in Business. As always, we had a fun time, but this meeting was a little different because we conducted a cording ceremony for the graduating seniors. These last couple of years as a WIB member, have been the most enlightining and enjoyable years yet. I met so many amazing, inspiring young women and I am beyond grateful for the experiences that Women in Business has provided me. Onto the next journey, but I will never forget the one that led me to WIB!!?? Women in Business - IUP

With my studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania coming to a close, I wanted to highlight one of my favorite organizations Women in Business - IUP ! I have been a member for two years and got the chance to serve as an officer during this last semester. During my time as the Alumni & Networking Chair, I got to be very involved in our events and making sure the alumni were still a part of the organization. WIB has provided so many wonderful opportunities to its members to hear from professional women in business as well as participate in activities to build our relationships with each other. Seeing all of the women grow their own confidence and networking skills and support each other through the process has been amazing. I look forward to seeing where we all go! ?? Thank you to my fellow officers, especially our president Lilian Westhafer, for all of your hard work to make this year special! I wish you success in all that you do! ??

To round out this week of events, I was able to bring both the American Marketing Association IUP Chapter and Women in Business - IUP members to the Career in Sports night at the Pittsburgh Pirates! Thank you to the panelists for being willing to share their experiences and expertise! One thing that continually was mentioned was the importance of being authentic! Be authentic in your resume, interviews, and your work! This past week was full of exciting events that were PACKED with knowledge and building connections! I am excited to continue to nurture these connections as my career grows!

Recently, I’ve been nominated for the ‘Outstanding Student Organization’ award for IUP’s 2024 Leadership Awards, and have Women in Business - IUP to thank for this opportunity. Serving as President of this club alongside Kira Wertz, Vice President, has been an amazing experience. Together, we’ve developed a supportive community, providing resources for professional growth and career advancement that I firmly believe every woman at IUP should have access to. As we’ve transformed WIB into a platform that advocates for the success of all female students, I have transformed with it. The opportunity to contribute in the growth of the club that began my campus involvement will always be something I’m grateful for. ?? Thank you Women in Business - IUP , Eberly College of Business, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Last night I had the amazing privilege to facilitate the first Women’s Alumni Panel hosted by Women in Business - IUP ? It was incredibly inspiring to hear from this amazing and powerful group of women, gaining valuable insights and receiving some much-needed reminders. Some takeaways: ?? As an intern, prioritize being on time by arriving early. Actively build connections, demonstrate skills, ask questions, and approach each internship as if it were your dream job. ?? Imposter syndrome is ongoing. Combat it by reflecting on your accomplishments and skills that led you to this point. ?? Networking is essential. Engage authentically, share your story, showcase your skills, and talk to everyone for potential assistance on your journey. ?? “360° Leader” is a great book to read to understand how to engage in leadership and lead your leader. Thanks to speakers Sherry Ulsh, Pamela Sledge-Coley, Donna M. Griffith, Betsy Lauber, and Regina Stover for presenting, and special thanks to Amy Cook for making the event happen. #indianauniversityofpennsylvania #iup #womeninbusiness #empowerment #panel #eberlycollegeofbusiness
