International Women’s Day is more than just a day - it’s a movement, a commitment, and a call to action. At #Womenin3DPrinting, we believe in the power of community, challenging the status quo, and creating spaces where tough but transformative conversations happen. Wi3DP is about more than technology: it’s about ensuring everyone has a safe space to innovate, express ideas freely, and be their authentic selves. Representation and inclusion matter. And while we celebrate the women breaking barriers in this industry, we recognize that real change requires all of us. This year, we reflect on the power of allyship, inspired by our Board Director Lisa D. Block's experience at Women in Manufacturing’s Men as Allies conference. Lisa witnessed something extraordinary: men in manufacturing stepping up to acknowledge privilege, confront biases, and commit to change. A powerful reminder that equality isn’t just a women’s issue - it belongs to all of us. ?? Safe spaces foster real change. ?? Diverse perspectives drive innovation. ?? When we stand together, we move the needle forward. Now is the time to act! Speak up in meetings, advocate for fair opportunities, mentor women in STEM, and challenge biases when you see them. Together, we can shape an industry where everyone has a seat. ? If you don’t see a seat for someone, make space. ? If a voice isn’t heard, amplify it. ? If bias stands in the way, challenge it. ?? Tag a woman who inspires you! Share your story and tell us why she is amazing. Be the ally that makes a difference. This IWD, Pooja Thakkar Singh, MBA, PMP reflected on its meaning and wrote a poem we had to share: If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a chair Stand side by side, let's make it fair. They try to ignore us, they try to erase But change begins when we take our place. Why wait when now is the time, When they try to shut the door—step in your prime. Exploring Creativity with 3D Printing Pens at Women in 3D Printing – Turku Our latest Women in 3D Printing – Turku event was all about hands-on creativity with 3D printing pens! Instead of clicking “print” and waiting, we got to draw, build, and sculpt layer by layer—no software, no slicing, just pure imagination and a steady hand. From delicate flowers to a miniature Eiffel Tower, self-made guitars and fashion glasses, everyone got a chance to test their artistic and engineering skills. Some of us discovered hidden talent, while others discovered that 3D pens require more patience than we thought (but that’s all part of the fun). It was a great mix of experimentation, problem-solving, and laughter, proving that 3D printing isn’t just about machines—it’s about people coming together to create. If you’re curious about 3D printing, hands-on learning, and meeting like-minded enthusiasts, join us at our next event. It is with immense gratitude that we announce Kristin Mulherin’s decision to step down as President of Women in 3D Printing. Kristin has been an integral part of our organization since?2018, when she joined as the Portland, OR Ambassador. Her dedication and passion for our mission led her to join the Board of Directors in March 2020 and take on the role of President in December 2021, guiding our organization through key moments of growth and transformation. During her tenure, Kristin made transformative contributions that will forever define Women in 3D Printing’s legacy: ?? She was a?key driver in launching and scaling the TIPE 3D Printing Conference, which has become a cornerstone event in our industry, celebrating technology innovation, industry breakthrough, people and economics in 3D printing. ?? Kristin cultivated?strategic partnerships and sponsorships?that continue to provide invaluable support for our community today. ?? Her?commercial expertise and guidance?helped Women in 3D Printing grow sustainably and extend our reach globally through the revamping of our ambassador program. ?? She led with resilience and care,?navigating our community through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring our network remained strong and connected during uncertain times.
