Sharing herstory: Angela Davis is a powerful symbol of 'herstory,' embodying the relentless fight for justice, equality, and empowerment. Her contributions remind us of the countless women who have shaped our world, from Malala Yousafzai advocating for education to Rosa Parks igniting the civil rights movement. Each of their stories weaves a rich tapestry celebrating the strength and resilience of women throughout history. As we honor these remarkable figures, let's invest in the future of tomorrow.? Your donations to the Women and Girls Foundation will help empower women, girls, and femme-aligned individuals, ensuring their voices are heard and their stories continue to inspire. Together, we can celebrate and uplift women today and for future generations! #WGF #herstory #education #womenshistorymonth #civicilrights #genderequity

This Wednesday! ???? Globally, women are key providers of both paid and unpaid care work such as childcare and eldercare. This important and necessary work benefits the overall well-being of societies and yet negatively impacts women’s economic status when compared to men. The economic disparities that result from the care economy are even worse for women of color, who are more likely to engage in unpaid and low-wage care work. Panelists will discuss the impact of women’s participation in the care economy and reimagine how organizational cultures and social norms can embrace caregiving as “everyone’s business.” ?? Join us Wednesday, March 19 for our Action Conversation on Race on the Caregiving Economy. ASL interpretation is provided. Register at ywcapgh.org/conversations. Panelists + Tatiana V. Martinez - Director of Operations, Women and Girls Foundation + Leilani Mears, MBA - Former President & Board Member, FAAP Filipino American Association of Pittsburgh & Vice Chair, National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) - Southwestern PA + Amanda Neatrour - Owner, Lewis Neatrour Group, Sandwich Caregiver and Caregiver Advocate, & Former Chair, Pittsburgh's Gender Equity Commission + Aishwarya Sinha, MPP - Senior Prevention Specialist, Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence Moderator: Natalia Goodnow, MA, MPIA - Mission Expansion Coordinator, YWCA Greater Pittsburgh #WomensHistoryMonth

The Women and Girls Foundation is honored to highlight the Black Women's Policy Center and its founding Chief Executive Officer, Rochelle Jackson, in this week’s Black History Month Pittsburgh Spotlight! We are grateful for organizations like the Black Women’s Policy Center, which collaborates with us and the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh to help close the gender pay gap in our city through our Level Up Campaign (learn more through the link in our bio). Even as Pittsburgh proudly holds the title of “America’s Most Livable City,” we still face challenges with pay equity, particularly for women of color.
