The Women's Foreign Policy Group and Women Forward International (WFI) gathered at the Sundaram Tagore Gallery in New York City during United Nations General Assembly week for an inspiring event on women's economic empowerment and the U.S.-India relationship. In addition to a fascinating panel discussion, attendees had the opportunity to purchase hand-woven ZariZar shawls, with proceeds directly supporting women in rural Indian communities. We are deeply grateful to our speakers, Dr. Geeta Rao Gupta, U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women's Issues; Annie Potts, award-winning actress and ZariZar Global Fashion Ambassador; and our moderator Dr. Vishakha N. Desai, President Emerita, Asia Society and Past Chair, Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University, for their profound insights and contributions. We were proud to co-organize this event to celebrate and highlight the role of women in strengthening global economic relationships. #wfpg #womenomics #usindiarelations #unga
