Focus for 2024-2025: How to Succeed in the Cannabis Industry. The goal is to connect companies and entrepreneurs in the cannabis marketplace with their consumer base to build a strong and stable cannabis industry and cannabis community. The mission is to move entrepreneurs beyond empowerment into powerful result driven career strategies, CEO positions and business ownership; to provide education, resources, and networking opportunities. Building business and professional success through Strategic Networking events; Regional Cannabis Industry Networking Dinners and Women Cultivating Success Networking Luncheons. Networking plays a major role in doing business in the cannabis industry. We do not need to connect with everyone in the room; we need to connect with the right person for the right conversation. WCCC’s Signature Events, Regional Industry Dinners and Women Cultivating Success Luncheons, are created and curated to facilitate Strategic Networking. WCCC brings cannabis entrepreneurs with established long term success in the industry to the stage to talk about “How to Succeed in the Cannabis Industry”. Visit womenscannabischamberofcommerce.com for a list of upcoming Mini Wednesday Webinars, Cliff Notes for Cannabis Businesses. Available on LinkedIn. Did you know that the price per milligram of THC can vary significantly from state to state? In New York, the cost of THC in edibles is ten times higher than in Michigan. Notably, Michigan already boasts the lowest prices in the nation, and these prices have decreased by 42% since last year. Will this trend persist? How low can prices realistically go? For more in-depth insights, explore our latest analysis on edibles: https://bit.ly/3XmYDiQ

Despite Governor Murphy's concerns, he still signed Senate Bill No. 3235 that regulates the production and sale of certain intoxicating hemp products. While the regulation of intoxicating hemp products is important, it's disappointing to see what should have been a public health bill turn into a bill that allowed the NJ liquor industry to enter. As stated: "The bill also does not explicitly require alcohol licensees that sell or distribute intoxicating hemp products to comply with the many regulatory requirements that apply to cannabis businesses." Still, the NJ-CRC will have to oversee this new development. I know NJ advocates worked hard to fight the inclusion of the liquor industry and I commend them for showing up and doing what they could. Much more work to be done and many questions to be answered.

The Women's Cannabis Chamber of Commerce and I are excited to host the book launch and signing for Cannabis Queens by Melanie Wentzel. I had the privilege of reading the manuscript. I am impressed with how this carefully crafted book has captured the journey and essence of women in the cannabis space. Thank you Melanie Wentzel and the over 200 women who contributed to this project. You make me proud to be part of the women in cannabis community. #cannabisqueens #womencultivatingsuccess #womencannabischamberofcommerce

#TheBlackConnector: MAJOR NEWS: Fearless Fund appealed and WON —-LAWSUIT DROPPED! (SHARE) Statement from #FearlessFund Woman’s Group: A few things that need to be clarified: 1- This is a WIN and positive outcome for the Fearless Fund and our community. 2- the US federal court of appeals stopped the fearless strivers grant program for Black women on June 3rd ruling suggesting we were in violation of the law. This program has not been operating since it entered the appeals process back in September 2023 and it was at its conclusion of the grant program when the court case began August 2023, it was designed to award 6 people in one year and it was at its end when the case began. 3 - We strategically avoided a Supreme Court ruling (the deadline to appeal our appeal has passed) because a ruling not in our favor at the Supreme Court would've ended minority based funding across the country and that would not be wise, we have already seen the Supreme Court ruling for the colleges end affirmative action for all colleges in schools and admissions. 4- Elections have consequences, we have had 3 federal rulings in this process where 4 Trump appointed judges ruled against us, 2 Clinton and 1 Obama appointed judges ruled for us. The writing is on the wall of who wants this work to continue and who does not. Be sure to vote November 5th! 5- This work is important because the statistics for the underfunded are overwhelming and this is why we have invested millions of dollars and awarded grants to over 500. 6- Any false narrative floating that anyone is claiming we are not moving forward at the Fearless Fund is not true, what is true is that we are proud to announce our new $200MM debt fund for under resourced entrepreneurs- male and female! 7- The one grant program the US appeals courts stopped was funding 6 entrepreneurs, this new program will touch over 3000 entrepreneurs, that sounds like a WIN to me.

Living with Pseudotumor Cerebri: My Journey and the Role of Cannabis Pseudotumor cerebri, also known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension, is a condition where the pressure inside the skull increases without an obvious reason, mimicking the symptoms of a brain tumor. For many, including myself, the road to managing this condition is complex and life-altering. As a woman diagnosed with this disorder, I’ve experienced its debilitating effects firsthand—severe headaches, vision changes, and a constant battle with the unpredictable symptoms it brings. My diagnosis changed the course of my life, but it also brought me to a powerful realization about the healing potential of cannabis. I was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri at the age of 24. At that time, my world was flipped upside down. The intense pressure inside my skull left me with blinding headaches, frequent bouts of nausea, and even temporary vision problems and health such as (Papilledema -is swelling of your optic nerve, which connects the eye and brain. This swelling is a reaction to a buildup of pressure in or around your brain?that may have many causes).Doctors struggled to manage my symptoms with conventional medication, and for a while, surgery was considered. Despite the medical intervention, my quality of life was declining, and I was left searching for a solution that could give me back a sense of control over my body and my health. Enter cannabis. My relationship with cannabis began much earlier in my life, as I struggled with depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. However, after my diagnosis with pseudotumor cerebri, I explored cannabis more deeply for its medicinal properties. Discovering Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) became a game-changer for me. Cannabis not only helped alleviate the physical symptoms like headaches and nausea, but it also provided mental relief in ways that prescription medications couldn’t. I regained my sense of self, my ability to function day-to-day, and most importantly, my vision of a life not ruled by my condition.

New research on the use of medical marijuana among people with rheumatic conditions such as arthritis finds that more than 6 in 10 patients who used medical cannabis reported substituting it for other medications, including NSAIDs, opioids, sleep aids and muscle relaxants. Most patients further said that the use of marijuana allowed them to reduce or stop using those medications entirely. “The primary reasons for substitution were fewer adverse effects, better symptom management, and concerns about withdrawal symptoms,” says the study, published this month by the American College of Rheumatology. “Substitution was associated with THC use and significantly higher symptom improvements (including pain, sleep, anxiety, and joint stiffness) than non substitution.” The findings, say authors at the University of Michigan Medical School, McGill University and the University of Buffalo, “suggest that an appreciable number of people with rheumatic diseases substitute medications with [medical cannabis] for symptom management.” Read more @ https://lnkd.in/gf7haymZ #cannabisresearch #medicalmarijuana #medicalcannabis #cannabis #marijuana #rheumaticconditions
