It may be easy to view the road to recovery as a trek of have nots. However, sobriety breaths all sorts of new life into the individual and their communities. What does sobriety mean to you? Maybe it's spending time with your loved ones again, cooking, or learning a new activity. #nationalrecoverymonth #soberliving #sobriety #strengthinsobriety

Our mission is to change women’s lives through employment and empower them with the stepping stones to self-sufficiency.
关于我们
Women's Bean Project is a social enterprise with the mission to uplift women through employment and empower them to be change-makers in their own lives. We hire women who have struggled with chronic unemployment and faced barriers to creating the future they deserve. Participants of our program receive full-time pay as they develop job readiness skills, discover their talents, and strengthen their confidence. With these stepping stones toward success, our graduates are able to support themselves and their families, serving as role models for future generations.

Thank you so much for the kind words!
So, back in about 2012, Marci Lundy, DOM would make these little glamour bags—I think she still does. She asked me to go with her over to Five Points. As usual, I never really asked questions. We went into this firehouse, and I saw women packaging goods. We went further into the firehouse, into a back room where about 24 women were gathered. Marci was presenting some glamour bags, sharing her story, and thanking the women. First of all, I was blown away because I didn’t know this was going to happen. Fast forward to September 10, 2024: she is now a board member of the Women's Bean Project . This was the place where the firehouse was, but things have changed. Now they have a larger location, and, like I said, my Marci Sauce is on their board today. We took a tour of the facility—it is fantastic. They do so much good work for women in the community. Tamra Ryan, the president, was our tour guide—a fabulous woman. We were also joined by Joyce Tsai Frankly, I never get tired of laughing at her. She’s the Director over at the Clyfford Still Museum . Also joining us was my dear Judy Allender We work together, along with Katy Anderson at the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation . But I have to admit, there were times when I got a little choked up, even taking this picture. Marci works really hard; she’s a big nerd, and I love her. Who knows—maybe the next time she asks me to go someplace with her, it will be her Fortune 500 company. ?? Love you so much, my Marci Sauce.

This month, we will be featuring program classes, partners, and wisdom that we have gained over the years to support sober women. Tameka and Denise, two remarkable women, transformed their lives from hardship to hope with the support of the Women's Bean Project. This social enterprise, with its simple yet profound mission, empowers women facing chronic unemployment to regain control of their lives through the dignity of work. ??? ? Women's Bean's story begins in 1989 when their founder, Jossy Eyre, volunteered at a women’s shelter in Denver, Colorado, and realized its support model did not provide lasting change. She invested $500 of her own money and put two women to work. Today, Eyre helps over 60 women each year achieve independence and self-sufficiency through her program.?95% of graduates find full-time employment within one year of graduation.??? ?
