As Women’s Bean Project ramps up for the holiday season and another year comes to a close, it’s a great time to return to and reflect on our roots. We believe all women have the power to transform their lives through employment. Starting in 1989 with our founder Jossy Eyre, Women’s Bean Project has developed core values to support our nonprofit. At Women’s Bean Project, Phase 1 in the Transitional Employment Program is all about self-discovery and learning how to cope with trauma and stress. Women in our program enjoy this stage the most as they embark on a personal growth journey with a supportive team by their side. November 11th-18th is hunger and homeless awareness week. The National Coalition of the Homeless started this awareness week in 1975 to fight assumptions and misinformation about unhoused individuals, as well as make physical change through programs, advocacy events and fundraising.
