WOCIP is a non-profit business and professional development organization founded in 2015 by nine visionary women who envisioned transforming the life sciences industry to influence the who access research, development and commercial innovations that impact health. WOCIP envisions a world where there is equitable access to improved health outcomes. The organization’s mission is to advance access to better health for all-- in an accelerated and sustainable manner by addressing gaps in representation and leadership levels that exist in the life science industry. Through our network of 22,000+, and members across the US, Europe and Africa. Our membership includes professionals from various educational backgrounds, organizational levels and functions within the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and life science industry, from entry level to senior executives.     Marissa Quinones, Pharm.D. – Breaking Barriers & Expanding Horizons In her “we are PHARMA” – Empowering Latinas feature, Marissa Quinones shared the resilience and determination it took to overcome challenges and pursue her dreams as a Latina in STEM. While higher education was common in her community, the expectation was to return home and serve. But Marissa envisioned broader horizons, inspired by her father’s educational journey through the Navy and the GI Bill. Her passion for science was sparked early—often accompanying her nurse mother to the lab, where she later realized her mother had unknowingly become the first scientist in their family. Marissa began her pharmacy career in academia and clinical practice, focusing on underserved populations. She later transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry to make a broader impact, rising to the position of Director of Medical Affairs.     Annie B. Harris – Finding Her Brave Voice & Empowering Others Annie B. Harris learned the power of owning her voice and standing firm in her beliefs from one of her greatest influences—her father. In rural Georgia in the 1960s, he led a team of white men in a racially oppressive environment, yet his no-nonsense presence commanded respect. By watching how he carried himself and navigated challenges, Annie absorbed powerful lessons in leadership, resilience, and self-assurance. Today, Annie exercises her voice fearlessly. She values teamwork, but never at the expense of her values or opinions.
