We had a great time giving back to the community at one of Northeast Ohio's iconic gardens. Thank you Bremec Garden Centers and Landscape Design for teaming up with us and to anchors Jay Crawford, Lynna Lai, Christi Paul, meteorologist Anthony Copeland and all our coworkers who braved the heat for this project.

From the day WKYC-TV signed on in late 1948, our team has been committed to respectable storytelling, media innovation and production excellence. We help shape American broadcasting. We don't do it for awards but still -- getting recognized for our station's community service is a lovely way to end the year. WKYC Studios received a Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service recently from Smart Business magazine. The award recognizes the impact of our "Education Station" campaign, which has mobilized dozens of our employees to get involved to make a difference. As a news station, we have the opportunity to interview some famous folks when they come to town. And one of our favorite things to do, as "The Education Station," is to steer some of these great guests over to our adopted school, Harvey Rice Wraparound School in Cleveland's Buckeye neighborhood.
